OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread

Openweb must surely be having problems. Torrents are crawling on my 4Mbps Gold Uncapped & Unshaped trial. Yesterday they approached 300KB/s at midday.

And now this happens on the day I need a new Service Provider and was looking at OpenWeb - this does not bode well.

UPDATE:

Openweb is still having issues with its website, email and ticket system.

Good news is that a resolution is imminent.

ADSL connectivity is not effected by the above issues, if you do experience ADSL problems please PM me.

I concur.. OpenWeb is investigating my account now apparently...

Using the silver special buy one get one free, Cape Town southern suberbs, all is very slow.

I'm on a 2mb gold uncapped account since October last year and all I can say is Openweb is truly a godsend.

im in noordhoek, i went from a 1mb mweb to a 2mb silver openweb.

Feels like a downgrade.........

The reason i ask is that my downloads whether it be torrents or FTP is limited to 100kB/s

Wow, seriously slow, currently download from Moddb at 4kb/s on a 10Mb line, also southern suburbs

I'm in Durban. My current daytime 10mb 'Gamer King' account performance (business hours, worst-case scenario) is as follows:

International HTTP download - 700kBps
1080p YouTube - 600kBps (No re-buffering)
NNTP (AstraWeb) - avg. 300kBps - 400kBps
P2P / Torrents - Max 300kBps, avg. 100kBps - 200kBps
Steam download - avg. 600kBps - 700kBps

Local (Durban) Ping: 39ms
UK (London) Ping: 198ms
US (New York) Ping: 264ms

Besides P2P, performance is pretty good for a shaped 10mb account if you ask me. After 7pm, everything is unshaped and I pretty much get 1.1mBps across the board

Ive done it countless times, all openweb "support" does, is blame it on telkom.
Ive tested with other accounts which are fine, its openweb that is slow. Not telkom.. I wish SUPPORT and everyone would get over that and just fix the issue.

Maybe Openweb should communicate with telkom and see if theres an issue there..

I've just tried my Afrihost Uncapped 4MB account - streamed some netflix, browsed - all 100%

Back to OW and local is 100% but the International speedtest won't even start; OW silver 2 for 1.. something must be up.
