Openweb uncapped ADSL feedback

If I created the thread, I would've made the u and the f of uncapped and feedback both capital letters, but I guess that's just me :)

Anyhow, will do some tests with my VB account and see what's cooking tomorrow and post some feedback again.

As for international websites on VB... still no luck for me. It's been THREE weeks now :(

But the Seacom cable fix in the next couple of days should normalise things again... hopefully.
 
Just sent in my 30 days notice to MrBeep. Sort of sad to do it, but oh well. Going back on the university network next year, and I hear their internet is now 20mb/s. :D

Thanks MrBeep, but I don't want to change to another backbone, for apart from USA web pages not opening, my account is perfect. :)

So I'll rather just wait for the Seacom fix. If it is then still problematic, I'll email you.

We're just keeping each other updated as to whether the VB problem still persists for those affected.

Well, my 1mb line is running fine for usenet.

Browsing is a joke, can't even open a whole lot of sites, can't download apps from itunes, and cant even open speedtest.

Getting max 2k/s from iTunes, and Gmail is a joke.

I applied online for a gold 1024 uncapped acc yesterday online and made payment via a cc, when I log on to the client zone there is no account activated yet, how long does this process take??

Im pretty sure your account only becomes effective on the 1 November.
Thats when mine is available, although im on a debit order....

I think its a good sign it's not active yet. The accounts are not billed pro rata, so you would be billed for a full month for October if your account was active before a new month starts, unless you are notified otherwise.
 
ADSL a/c wouldn't auth this morning at all ([email protected] on IS backbone), have had to email support to ask what's up, hope they get back to me soon - as long as they do before I get home after work; thankfully I have a few backup a/c (an absolute must have in the SA internet climate)

It "sounds" like your account has been labelled inactive? Yeah, getting hold of OW is your only bet :p

My VB has been working like a charm since MrBeep got hold of it (thanks again).

Do all the websites you had problems with, load for you now ? :wtf:

Cause I still have that dreaded problem on my side :(

You running VB or Google DNS? I'm on Google.
I haven't seen a single site that I can't load.
 
Well - my time here is up...

Thanks to MrBeep for the final account I was on, it ran perfectly for the last two weeks...

Im also still having problems. I am using google's dns but it's not helping. Appart from the browsing I am getting good download speeds. (300 - 400kb/s).
