Openweb uncapped ADSL feedback

Is the problem with DSL-H fixed?
When I check this morning (4:30) my nntp downloads where running around 27kb/s on a 1mb line.
Will do a router disconnect and reboot when I get home today again, but not pleased with DSL-H if the problems have been fixed.
Anybody else experiencing the same problems?

Will check this afternoon and if the problem still persists, hopefully I can be moved back to VB if their authorisation problems have been sorted.

My VB Gold uncapped was quite poor the last two nights. Hopefully it's better this weekend. It's been 6 months since I've changed backbones.

Got this form speedtest.net using Afrihost free 1Gb account:

Going to try the disconnect for 30min again and see what if it works, else mailing Keoma again.
nntp is still around 30kb/s, http download max at 50kb/s.

@VJB 449 - Don't tell me that :(

My dowload speeds on IS have also been bad since somewhere over the long weekend. Was getting anything between 17kbps and 50kbps.(1Mb Account) I left it until last night, thought it may come right. Mailed support and the reply I got was that a fault was being logged. This evening it was still the same. Mailed support who gave me a VB account. That account is even worse. Speedtest has download speeds at 18kbps! NNTP is crawling at 7-15kbps.

Mailed support again to let them know that the new account is worse. That was a couple of hours ago... Still stuck with this useless VB account. Web pages take ages to load. Youtube is unusable. NNTP is like dial-up. Mailed them again an hour ago to ask for feedback / progress... Nothing! A simple reply to confirm they are attending to the problem would have sufficed.

I'm not sure how long one has to wait to get support via this e-mail system Openweb have going, but it is not working for me. From what I have read and experienced - now and in the past, I think I may give Mweb a try. I guess there is nothing better than person to person contact when issues arise. Until then, I will have to use my backup account with Telkom - which is running strong.

If you have not received a reply, we did not receive the email.

Please resend it to [email protected]

There are currently no general faults and all networks are up and running at superb speeds. If you are having an issue, please email [email protected] for assistance

All the mails I sent you since 5:30 pm yesterday, after I received the VB account, were sent from the same mail account as the previous mails. To support@openweb and CC'd to CEO@ openweb. Eventually, I had to use a g-mail account - which you replied to sending me a DSL-Heaven account which is also running at half speed. Now, you send me a mail reverting further troubleshooting to Telkom. I have a Telkom account and am currently using it and am getting full line speed on the same download which only achieves 60kbps on the DSL-Heaven account. So, why revert my problem to Telkom?

Just cancelled my account. after the 'have not received your e-mail' saga to the 'accounts are working fine on our side - take it up with Telkom' deflection, I called it quits, since this is not the first time. This has happened often and starts with IS which breaks every now and then, to being moved to a VB account which always seems to run at 18-20kbps (for me), to the DSL-heaven account which not only runs at 60% line speed, but gets shaped 24/7 (on any download site) and ends with me asking to go back to IS, which magically ends up working again. This time was the last though. I sent screen caps showing the download speeds I was getting on DSL-Heaven as opposed to Telkom - of the same file on the same server. That did not deter Openweb in the least. A pity, because they can offer better service I'm sure. It's just come down to a matter of principal now. Their e-mail based support just does not work - for me that is.

Hi All
Is anyone else having slow download speeds on Afterhours uncapped at the moment.
It has been running full speed until about half an hour ago.
It is running at about 150k instead of 600k on a 10 meg line.
Many thanks
Johnathan

Seems like its not just uncapped having issues, I'm on capped 4mb line and having the same speed issues.
