Dsl heaven hey. Is there a massive difference between the content that is available between astraweb and newsdemon..?

No, all the newservers serve the same content. Some providers are more susceptible to DMCA takedowns however, which will lead to missing articles on some downloads.

Nope it's all the same, i dunno how it works actually LOL but most will work. The difference is some isp's throttle certain ports, most isp's cannot throttle because it's for browsing and SSL servers run on port 80. So in theory it should run full speed, at least that is what i think but i could be horribly wrong :D. Astraweb i always had issues with. Slow download, low retention but since i got newsdemon it has always run full speed and i am sure it's because i use the ssl servers. As far as i know astraweb doesn't have true ssl servers. Plus newsdemon gives you 30gb storage space, so i have uploaded all my work files and important info just in case all my other back ups fail, nothing major but it's a nice to have.

I love dslheaven, it works for both nzb and torrents. Kuk for gaming though.

True, nzb + torrents fly with dslheaven, but for gaming locally it's not as good, latency a little bit higher in some cases in comparison to something like VB for example. But still playable, international latencies are also good for gaming on dslheaven.

Thanks. I will check newsdemon out. All my downloads (even my HTTP downloads) have been kuk slow since I started downloading from NZBs even though before HTTP downloads would run almost at full speed. So not too sure whats up with that :/ Also not sure how the SSL thing works so I'll be irritating you with that as well :) :p

Lekka i am sure you know by now that the ssl server is nothing more than a server name change. Are you using port 80?

You did sign up for the special, if you paying more than 10 dolla cancel and get the special

The is a saying " Retention is the new acquisition" according to research it takes 5 to 6 times to acquire a new customer then keep an old one .
Sorry that Openweb hasn't learnt it and charging old customers much more then new customers . The result Goodbye Openweb Hello Mweb :)

The last three posts are rather suspect.

However, I agree. No complaints from my side and my account has been running flawlessly of late.

LOL, what is suspect about them ?

No complaints from my side either, besides for one. I still feel some sort of loyalty program should be put in place that if you've been a subscriber for X amount of years, one should qualify to get discount on your account. Not nice knowing that new sign ups get to score a R649 monthly sub where I still need carry on paying R738 :(

If that is the case then I agree... Not nice at all.

I've always had my suspicions that both cableguy and ijack are dummy accounts created for the purpose of promoting OpenWeb.
The problem is that MrBEEP don't understand that on every client which complains there are 10-20 who are closing their account without complaining. He is ignoring the first rule of business "listen to your customers" ( Don't fight with them )
