Openweb uncapped ADSL feedback

Thanks MrBeep, tried that this morning when your techy called, its not working, looked around and found that smtp.dsl-bcsnet.co.za works.

I will have the nerds take a look at the address and see why it's not working,.

Thanks it is working again with a new account, prefer being on the VB though.

Yeah, not going to happen, sadly. At this point if you lose your VB account, it's gone for good. A real pity, because IS has a lot of times when it's performance is pretty erratic, which VB never had.

That said, haven't had issues with my IS account since the Steam issue last week, so I can't really complain.
 
Why is it that when I stream a youtube video on an openweb.co.za on gold, silver when I pause it doesn't download to the end?
 
Looks like my line has been upgraded from 1mb to 2mb.
I currently have an Openweb Gold 1mb line. Can I have this upgraded immediately and how?
 
Anybody else having terrible speeds?

I cant even visit here, have to use my FNB account just to browse?
 
Have had terrible speeds since yesterday and sent several mails to openweb, asking them to inquire. Did not even get a reply, which is unusual for them. Consolidated throughput is in the 0.4 Mbit/s region, with periods where the speed goes down to zill. (I'm on a 4 meg account)

I am on a After Hours uncapped account and am being throttled/shaped to less than a quarter line speed. WTF customer for 11 days and service gone to hell?

Same here on a Gold uncapped account. They said that it's meant to be unshaped after 18:00 but NNTP was still going at less than 25% of full speed. It's picked up a bit now to about 60%, but it's still not the unshaped speed that I should be getting. And I'm going to scream if I'm given new login details again :(
 
I see that guys on Mweb are having international issues. Is it possible that this is affecting us too?

I think it is possible. Last night I was only getting around 140kB/s on a 12 thread NNTP. But downloading from youtube Joburg cache came in at 380kB/s, and streaming a non local cached video barely came in at 60kB/s

MrBeep, are you guys having international issues?
