1. Go to
www.xbox.com and follow the instructions to contact the XBOX helpdesk.
2. Get a reference number.
3. Find your proof of purchase.
4. Download the claim form:

5. Complete it.
6. Attach the PoP.
7. Fax it to 0861 XBOX36. Yes, I know
they think it's 0861 XBOX360, but they've obviously never heard of the 10-digit phone number thing.
8. For good measure, scan in your claim form and your PoP and e-mail it to
[email protected]
9. For extra good measure, try to phone them on 0861 XBOX36 to confirm receipt.
10. Wait 72 hours.
11. Log a Hello Peter complaint against Microsoft and tell them MID is not responding.
12. Wait 24 hours.
13. Log another Hello Peter complaint against Microsoft and tell them MID is still not responding and that you would like someone from Microsoft to contact you directly and personally facilitate your replacement process with MID. Do NOT let them refer you to MID. Do NOT let them tell you that MID will call you shortly. If that is their response, log another Hello Peter complaint. You can also call the Microsoft customer response management help-line, found on the Microsoft SA site, but I prefer Hello Peter due to its public nature.
14. When the person from Microsoft contacts you, get an email address.
15. When MI Digital contacts you, get the rep's direct email address.
16. Summarise your conversation with the MID rep on email and mail it to the MID rep for confirmation and copy Microsoft.
17. When you follow up with MID, copy Microsoft - every time.
