Opposition parties turn on DA

The DA released a statement that indicates the mayor of Cape Town has spent more than the hours required by law doing her job. As such, this is hardly a true statement.
 
the difference here is that the DA would lunch a transparent investigation into these acusations and if the member is found guilty he/she would be reprimanded accordingly, sacked or even charged.

Maybe because the "other" party got a proven track record of corruption. As posted above the so called investigation by the FF+ have been going on since 2005 in the Midvaal municipality and so far no evidence of corruption have been found. The Public Protector also did not find any evidence of corruption.

What's hypocritical is ANC supporters crying foul at the first mention of corruption within a different party. Now corruption is a bad thing!

1, yes, one news24 article highlighting the mere possibility of corruption in the DA would indeed constitute allegation, whereas literally years and years of facts and more recently, blatant court dodging etc. points toward a more sinister picture, I'm afraid. Any two which ways you choose to look at it, it's as clear as day and everyone, deep down inside, knows it to be true.

Also, it's rather remarkable that this story comes only a day and a half before we vote, with no time to investigate and bring closure to the matter at all. Regardless, if there's any merit to any of this, fire the bastard/s...as opposed to hire them!

Zille is desperate and getting more hysterical by the day. She didn't even turn up for the Mayoral meeting because she was so busy electioneering.

Sackboy, whether or not that's true I don't know. What I do know is that if she's becoming more hysterical by the day, it's because she's desperate to save this country as opposed to being power-hungry.

It assumes the country needs to be saved, a claim which is the opposition party's prerogative.

You have no proof. In fact the DA has refuted any such accusation. Please refrain from making baseless comments.

Besides, Helen Zille has applied for leave. Would you get fired if you didn't pitch up for a morning meeting because you were on leave?

All this despite the fact that she is working more hours than required by law to do her duty to the city of Cape Town.

Its a job Suckboy, not a way of life - she is entitled to her leave just like anyone else.

So once again, I challenge you to provide some evidence for you baseless rantings because I don't believe a word of it.

What's wrong with the premiership? Was Thabo Mbeki not the vice-president and then the president? Was there something wrong with that?

If you had to describe Helen Zille with one word, it would be, workaholic. You simply cannot accuse her of being lazy.

Based on an official working month of 176 hours, and subtracting the 208 working hours that fall within the Council recess period from 5 December to 12 January, I was required to work 576 hours between 1 November 2008 and 13 March 2009 to meet the legal requirement of a full day’s work. During this period I therefore put in an additional 70 hours over and above the official time that I would have been legally required to work. I have not missed any official Council meetings but when I missed Mayco meetings (on two occasions), I applied for leave.

As stated in other threads, corruption, whether by the DA or any other party, needs to be dealt with. Its naive to assume there is a political party free of corruption.
 
What? The DA not perfect what are the chances. Shall I remind you it is NOT the DA who

1) Has a presidant who has had so many court charges of corruption against him.
2) Rape charges
3) Wants to sue the media (No freedom of speech)
4) Different stories to which group is being spoken to. Double faced! Etc.

In my books all that is FAR MORE important than allegations against the DA.

Why are't Seremane, Sandra Botha, and any other prominent DA role players playing a role in the election campaign...
Helen is still a mayor...and shouldn't be missing mayoral committee meetings.
