But of interest in that expensive unit with lithium - why do they say 3,000 hours vs my 500 ?
And the River 2 with LiFePO4 is supposed to be 3,000 ?

Unless the 3,000 quoted on the Axeprt is until dead battery ?

Jackery = slow charging. Most EcoFlows have way more tech inside. Which models did you compare?

Jackery Explorer 250 - for Laptop setup
Jackery Explorer 500 - for basic home running (lights & TV etc.)

Stats compared, the Jackery does charge slower but offers quite a bit more in performance compared to the EcoFlow. There are quite a variety of "portable powerstations" available - the Jackery, for me, is a more capable solution at the moment (have seen real world demo's in person, have been very impressed).

And yes, running a fridge (or similar large appliance) isn't what these devices were designed for - I'm getting an inverter generator (pure sine) for the fridge, until I move into my own place and can do a proper 'Off Grid" setup.

I placed an order yesterday with order confirmed - and heard nothing about ETA.

When I clicked on a tracking number (Buffalo) , April 2023 appeared briefly before it went to 'unknown'

Maybe I'm too eager - but looking to see if this is at least in country

This site is the local arm of Ecoflow. Their customer support on the site is a bit kak. Suggest joining this Facebook group (it's an official group for the company):

People always mention trolleys are cheaper but none recharge fast enough to match our frequent load shedding slots. So you have to have more capacity, which pushes the price up.

Is the 3000w the watt hours it provides? One thing I like about the portable battery units is that I know 720kwh means that if I use a device that chows 100w I will get roughly 7 hours out of the device.

I looked at them and they're not bad - but I liked this for a few reason :

- R6,999.00
- Modular - add solar or extra battery
- Lithium batteries with fast charge
- Quality (I've never seen one - but many say a step above Gizzu/ Mecer)

And the geeky part of me liked the screen, WiFi and app control

Get a baby one for now, but they have their newer range arriving around Feb/March 2023. Those are rated for higher life cycles (3000+). I'm saving up to get their newer stuff once it arrives.

It has cool lights xD.

You should have went for the River Max instead. It was 10k yesterday.

It should be basically the same as their current pricing. Their newer range replaces their older stuff. For example, a Delta 1300 and a Delta 2 are the same price and pretty comparable (Delta 1300 has slightly higher capacity while Delta 2 has a longer life span). Same for the River and River 2 range.
