OS X mouse acceleration

I had much the same with my new MBP-17 and the Magic Mouse - I use Better Touch Tool, which makes it tolerable, but not as good as using a Logitech on a PC.

i find the microsoft wireless mice don't work as nicely they have this strange acceleration problem, especially the mouse keyboard combo (the one with a mouse and keyboard one recevier)

Then again a wired microsoft mouse works wonders also the notebook mouse.

and yes i did install the intellipoint software but it still irritated me...

I just bought a Bluetooth Mouse 5000 and I find the acceleration annoying as well. I am setting up the intellipoint software to see if it improves...

lol, when I saw this thread revived I just knew it was you without even looking :D

The acceleration is bloody annoying and will drive some people nuts.

Intellipoint made it bearable. Is there any other software which will improve it?

@ponder - i have had a mac now for 3 years and tend to agree with you - I prefer Windows mouse tracking for some reason - it just seems easier to use.
Will definately try Steermouse.

I still can't see the difference... I've used my PC and my mac daily for years... Only found that tracking on my linux system felt weird but easily sorted.
