not to mention that their website is useless to see a usage history, the only function that works is their 'call history search' the rest is all like this:

My Usage This Month

Voice minutes used: 0 Seconds
Inclusive voice minutes remaining: 0 Seconds

SMS's sent: 0 Units
Inclusive SMS's remaining: 0 Units

Data Used (MB): 0 MBs
Inclusive data remaining: 0 MBs

Inclusive airtime used: 0 Rand
Inclusive airtime remaining: 0 Rand

i checked this morning and some money was refunded to my account, although i haven't yet revisited my statement to see if the refund amount is correct.

through this i didn't receive any feedback from CellC btw.

update: it seems they've only refunded the overcharged amount for October, but they started overcharging from Sep 21...

update from my side:

i've been refunded R 185 for overcharges in October. according to my calculations they still owe me R 290 for overcharges in September

furthermore, since the refund, R 7.77 has gone off my account, even though my usage report only specifies R 4.8 in total usage.

this kind of inaccurate and seemingly random billing has made me lose all faith in Cellc. Especially since i've gotten no feedback from them whatsoever at any point. I'll be moving back to VC after i've used up all my prepaid, my 2 months on cellc has not been a pleasant experience.

I agree, they are inaccurate. On last thursday i was using the web @ 0.15c OOB & on friday morning it was R2.
I want to move back to VC PPaid again, cos the 2gig std ppaid bundle lasts up to 45 days for me @ R369.
It's the 9th today and I've already spent R227.50 on CellC from 1st Oct.

I also received a reply on Monday, that they are looking into it. Today I checked my balance and seems I gained R22.99.

No other communications thus far though. Also, according to my own logs, the wrongly charged OOB was at least R32. Will see what happens...

From my personal experience- Cell C are pretty good, apart from their absolutely abysmal billing department. The worst part about it, is that NO ONE can reach them, they are only accessible via email.

Just have patience guys. I went through 3 months of this as soon as I joined them, but it is still far better than I have had with the other operators.

I logged another call with the call centre today, and while I was busy with them, a sms came through saying that they charged me the correct amount, while the person I was speaking to said that he can see on the system I was overcharged. Got a new reference number. If they did charge me correctly, then someone from Cell C must explain to me what their idea of of OOB is...

I don't go OOB anymore so i won't know if it's OK, and no refund up to now.

My 50mb bundle was used up yesterday, and from then until 15minutes ago I was charged 15c/mb. But I have loaded a new bundle, just in case!

Gentleman, for your airtime sake, stick to data bundles. Cell C are not honourable, they do not keep their word.

My bundle ran out this morning at 1am roughly. I use 3G Watchdog to track data usage. As soon as the bundle expired, I stopped my mobile data internet connection on my HTC, and reset the counters on 3G watchdog. I then checked my airtime, it said 0.12 mb left on my bundle and R54.61 airtime. I reconnected for a couple of minutes (whatsapp messages came through and Googled a little) Thereafter, when my data usage reached 1.98 mb according to 3G watchdog app, I disconnected my mobile data. Checked my airtime and it said R54.33 and no mb left on bundle.

The rand difference was 28 cents movement and 1.98 mb usage increment. So that's roughly 15c.

Woke up this morning at 6:50 to check weather on accuweather, and it was back to 99c after calcing the diffs. Probably Cell Cs version of MTN zone except with data, with differing rates depending on time of day?

Don't complain, stick to bundles, problem solved.

I can't seem to find the info anywhere. What's the standard per MB rate for data on Cell C (without using a bundle)?
