Overcharged on OOB data

Don't complain, stick to bundles, problem solved.

i wouldn't call that a solution. at least with VC i was warned via SMS when my bundle was about to run out.
Cell C is either guilty of false advertising or fraudulent billing. At best, they're incompetent and they've blown all the goodwill i ever felt for them

I heard from 2 people today who got their incorrect billing issues sorted almost instantly by @cellc_support on twitter. Maybe give them a try if they're not overwhelmed by now...

I twitted my first tweet to @cellc_support just after 15h00 this afternoon. 3 hours later I got a credit for the incorrect billing. Thanks for that Vlad :)

Thx to @cellc_support on Twitter. Thumbs up for quick service. :)

+1, all sorted... glad to see you guys were helped too

Is cell c support willing to help get the company to fix the OOB rate? Could someone that has a Twitter account, request this please...

Glad you guys got your money back nevertheless! :)

Sent cellc_support a tweet yesterday about being over charged and got my R116 refunded this morning - looks like the twitter support is the way to go with cell c

FFS, after i got my refund 2 days ago, i got incorrectly billed more than R100 AGAIN for OOB at the wrong rate...

the twitter support guys must be getting so annoyed with this...

I buy bundles now, prevention is better than cure.

*147*200*15# for 100mb
*147*200*45# for 300mb
*147*200*75# for 500mb
*147*200*155# for 1Gb
*147*200*310# for 2Gb

and just use a data usage tracker on your phone, with notifications? Working for me...

Hi. On 01/09/2012 I activated a 50mb data bundle. I used up the bundle, and now I am being charged 99c/mb. The 30 days of the bundle is not over yet, am I not supposed to pay 15c/mb until the 30 days is over?

I see on my online statement that I have been charged 99c since the 10/09/2012. Before that it was at 15c/mb

You only got charged 99c per mb? You're lucky. I just got off the phone with Cell C's call centre and a long-winded explanation of why it's my fault I'm being charged R2.00 per mb. So much for Alan Knott-Craig's "15c per mb for everyone on all plans" BS.

Seems those old Vodacom habits die hard.

99c OOB is on new packages. If you are on older contract, you will be charged accordingly to your T&C. Chek with Cell C if you can migrate to new package.

I have also been overcharged, I have PM'ed and emailed the CellC rep here, tweeted to CellC_Support and emailed them at [email protected] (as advised on there other tweets) all in the last three days, and not received a single reply that someone is investigating. Maybe I should try Facebook?

I am porting to CellC prepaid next month. Hopefully the OOB rate will be 15c/mb as advertised, not 99c/mb.

I'm currently using my weekend special airtime for data. I had a 50mb bundle loaded, when that was up, it switched ove4 to my weekend airtime and must be 15c per mb, thoigh I havent bothered calculating it exactly. Definately not 99c though.

I'm using it as well ATM, tested just now @ 15c per meg.

I have just had the same problem being charged R2.00 OOB rate ?? . bought a 50mb data bundle on 3/11/2012 - the bundle was used up by the next day 4th. Was charged 15c per mb for the rest of that day but the next day was charged R34.00 for 17mb ??
I wonder how many others are being caught by this OOB shark. They are behaving worse than vodacon and I have always been very pro cell c since they brought out the R999.00 for 24gb prepaid bundle. I have sent a message to cell c and am waiting for a response.
if I get one I will post it here.
