Paradox IP150 configuration issue

Seems there is a new firmware version after 4.40 for the IP150.

I am busy setting up my Paradox SP6000 system with IP150 module to work with Home Assistant (Hass) running on an Rpi. As a first step I needed to update my IP150 firmware so that local connections are enabled. I found that the best way to connect to the panel using Babyware is with the panel serial number connection method.

Before update: Firmware 4.10, Bootloader 2.13
After update: Firmware: 5.02.019 Bootloader: 2.13.02

Steps:
1. Go to Program Files where BabyWare is installed
2. Launch InField as administrator (otherwise there is a bunch of errors when you try to run it)
3. Connect to panel using serial number method - leave any password fields as default
4. Update firmware with latest firmware included with Babyware v5.4.8
5. Wait a long time and stress out because it looks like the IP150 goes offline - same issue as BrendonBG https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/paradox-ip150-configuration-issue.935871/post-24705800
6. Wait some more

Finally it came back up and everything was working.

BabyWare v5.4.8:
md5 (unzipped): 1cbffefdeb29486fcd32869e5428bab1

Don't trust random files on the internet, try to get BabyWare from an independent and trusted source and verify the MD5 of "Babyware V5.4.8-Setup.exe"

Hi, I am not as tech savvy, but also have worries about where Paradox is going with this and the high costs of connecting to my paid for system. What, if any are the alternatives to Swan server?

Just upgraded mine (mostly so I can set a static IP for the IP150) and the upgrade process went smoothly with no additional waiting or connection issues after step 4. Cheers for the guide!

@AppleFanZA you mind if I give you a shout if I get stuck?

Also trying to do the same thing with Home Assistant - I have read that it is able to work with the zones and read if they open or not, you can use these notifications to activate lights, etc etc.

For example the other thing you can do with Hass is that it reads alarm notifications, so if the alarm goes off you can get it to switch on all the lights.

Sure, but I think you are a few steps ahead of me - haven't had time to connect my system to Hass yet... I'll update when I've done that.

hey guys, is there a market for a used IP150 with firmware version 1.39 at all? I don't need my one anymore.

Thanks for posting the updated version of Babyware. I have an MG5050 panel and it seems like Paradox has unpublished all the panel firmware updates as it just says structure not found when I click on MG5050.

Does anybody have the latest panel firmware?

FYI hope this helps but I contacted Spectrum and found out that my IP150 was heavily outdated and due to the firmware being too old they replaced it. So try giving that a shot but they only deal with dealers unfortunately so maybe ask the company you bought it from to have it sent to Spectrum.

Possibly OT so apologies in advance , but does anyone have a Paradox 307 USB that they are not using / willing to lend to me for a day or so.

I need to reprogram my alarm (SP6000), the guy who i got to install messed it up the last time so i figure i should just do it myself

I Manged to get my Paradox working with Home assistant. I get nice Dashboard interface and arming and disarming is instant no need for codes or logging in like insite app. No longer need to subscribe to insite either as I setup Duckdns to control my Home assistant from any connection.

This is only the tip of the iceberg.

Can now start integration using any of the alarm sensors. PIR, door sensors, outside beams etc.

I use my alarm sensors to toggle other lights that connected to ym system using mqtt (physical using sonoffs).

So basically a R60 LED being changed into a motion sensor light.

yes this is my next step. want to buy a bunch of sonof basic and connect it to all the outside light and some inside and use it to automate.

buy sonoff mini's (with a switch that you can get to, then you can make it a 2way setup) for all the lights inside (excluding free standing)

Any chance you've documented a step-by-step for getting this working?
