Performance , Not bad, good latency for local games, decent international latency, speeds are on par, streaming things like youtube buffer though on a 8 meg line, news server is a bonus.

Value, having the 20 gig option bundled with my line makes it a good deal. The 30gb local is great.

Support, never dealt with.
 
Performance - Speed is pretty good, Latency is up and down depending on the time

Support - Have not really had any issues so have yet to call the support centre

Value for money - 1mb Uncapped, I would say is good value for money

Overall satisfaction - If it had 5 star to rate from, I would say 3 Stars
 
I have a 1meg line, with a 20gig cap
performance: Latency slightly above other ISP's at same line speed. Speed can usually be decent. Often experience semi disconnects and sometimes very poor speeds. - Telkom is unable to explain, but usually gets better if the port it changed.
Support: Dreadful usually, often wait ages for a consultant. Consultants vary greatly in respect, and often are not really able to help you at all, and tend to mis-interpret what you desire. Their "call you back" service only works about 1/5 of the time. Improves greatly if you can convince the consultant to speak to a manager.
Value: My current account is fairly decent value for money. The 20gig cap is greatly priced compared to other deals in SA. Line rental is still rather pricey however, and there is no compensation for when your line is down.
Overall: It is internet, works as it should, mostly. Generally quite happy. But slow response and bad customer support when I experience problems once every 4-6months brings down my overall satisfaction.

Improvement wise:
The call center is in great need of dedicated workers, who actually care about the customer.
More technicians are obviously needed. (Although that is a more line reason, and not so much ISP)
The staff in the call centers need a lot more training, and need more powers to help the user.
Well priced, home, uncapped deals are also something they really need to consider.

I have started using Telkom in the last 3months, I have been happy some days and some days they are just pathetic. There is a tendency to break in service every two weeks, am not sure is this is by design.
Speed has been a decent for downloads at 104kBs on 1mb line
 
Installed the line fairly quickly however there was a fault on the line for the first 2 weeks of use.

Often have international routing issues.

Actual Data account is fairly quick however in games i battle alot

How can they improve?

-Give us better value for money
-Naked ADSL
-Improve support because phoning telkom is a nightmare.
 
Mostly happy with the service, however I also agree line rental price is the biggest head ache of most users of ADSL in SA. I have 4MB ADSL on DoBroadband package - R1000 per month for 20GB and 1000 minutes to phone to land lines, not bad, but would like if this could be cheaper...
 
Is this the right ISP for telkom mobile business?Because I just cancelled my ADSL for the go big 10g promo.
If so then here goes:

Performance - Speed is VERY good and latency too!They just need to get a few more areas covered.But I'm consistently hitting speedS over 4mbps right up to 6.6mbps on a 7.2mbps modem so IMO thats awesome.

Support - Have not really had any issues so have yet ...BUT when I ordered it I spoke to a telkom technician by calling 10219 and he was pretty clued up got me sorted out in no time and I didn't have to wait long either.

Value for money -R199 for 10gb a month at these speeds with optional 10gb at additional R100pm??Lol Show me who can offer more for R200-R300

Overall satisfaction - If it had 5 star to rate from, I would say 3 Stars
 
Performance - get advertised speed; latency could definitely be better for online gaming (BF3 on PS3)
Support - Whenever I call support I have to go through their "troubleshooting flow chart", reset your router, etc. really irritating
Value for money - getting better now that 20GB blended cap is included in the package instead of the 9GB originally
Overall satisfaction - High can't really complain.
 
Telkom 384kbps 10gigs

Speed: 8, its keeps around expected speed even if torrenting.
Latancy: 6, its satisfactory.
Support: 1, The call centers are filled with unprofessional , poorly advised and unhelpful call agents.
Value: 6, I think it can be made cheaper,line rental is high but i wont mind paying the same price for a faster line and maybe a couple more gigs.
Overall Satisfaction: 5, It doesn't trouble and provides you with what you paying for, support is poor and it wont hurt to improve and add more services to the package.
