Great to see you putting up some nice equipment. So i kinda see the broader picture of what you hopping to achieve. Looks good. Drop me a mail some time and maybe we can hook up.

Hey Grog,

So this is what you're up to! :)
You've got some nice equipment there, and looks like you're doing things properly.

Good luck!

Well, hopefully I am doing it right

But I must admit, we went for quality instead of quantity and I think a lot of people will very much impressed with our uptime (target is least 99.999%) and coverage. We will be offering some services that I don't want to release here, but it is good!

PMB will be our trial area and the rest will be done in a couple of weeks instead of some of the more usual promises and then taking months. We are spending a lot of money, I will give a hint, but no specifics for obvious reasons, but in excess of R10m for PMB only.

WUG is one of the things I never realised, and it shouldn't be a problem, especially after hours. If there is enough interest, I am sure I can justify spending some money on hooking up some 2.4GHz equipment to my network and help with backhauling. Maybe daffy can give some advice in that regard?

And we did not plan to offer internet services, but now that I think about it and read what is going on with some wifi companies, maybe we should. Anybody have ideas regarding internet bandwidth? I would really appreciate it. Just read my earlier post.

Hopefully not. All my equipment except wireless is ordered and I am waiting for ICASA to give me a final go-ahead. My application is all sorted and all technical aspects have been discussed with them. My ptmp frequency will be in the 5.4GHz band (OLD PTN Licensee holders freq) and backhauls in the 5.8GHz range. I have however been informed today that they will gazette the new licences requirements by the end of the month and thereafter I can order my wireless stuff. I will keep you updated here what is going on. If a wug is a possibility, then we can interface and bring in some 2.4GHz equipment to hook ppl up to keep their equipment cost down. Any ideas in this regard will be appriciated.

Guys

i think this is a much better wisp ,have a look at their site

www.globalwebintact.com
.
They have a lot more coverage around the country than most other wisp's.

"top of the icisa building"

By the way that building is called the Davis Alexander Building....

Damn, I wish I had seen this thread long ago. But it's over 2 years since someone posted in it.
