You'll get better performance still using Shield. The laptop GPU is not going to be as good as e.g. putting in a 980Ti or something.

Thanks for the advice bro. Yes I agree would, 980Ti would destroy anything a mobile unit can through at it. I've always been a hardware enthusiast, always went for bang for buck power desktop PC's. Now I game less and "play" around more (sigh being older sucks) but I have the money to do something stupid (my younger self would slap me for not going 980Ti build). Problem is i'll never use the full potential of the 980 and even if i do i would not get tight pants like i used to.

I need something like a overpriced laptop toy to play around with before serious things happen like marriage etc :)

I've got a bad feeling that after this buy I wont buy other tech for a while.

If you have a budget between 30-35k you could look at the GE62 with 4k UHD screen:

It's got a more understated style than some other models, and that screen is amazing and would let you max out DOTA with the 970m.

Keep in mind, you should find out ahead of time when the Skylake models will be rolling out on whatever notebook you choose because they'll make a serious performance boost for no extra money. The MSI notebooks are all rolling out their Skylake upgrades at the moment. PM me if you would like any more advice on MSI brand notebooks specifically. I think the Aorus is a good option as well, but I can point you in some good directions if you have a clear idea of what you're looking for.
 
4K panel driven by Gtx 970m, hmm if the video memory is 6gb maybe, 3gb is not big enough.

It's enough for some games; frankly you'll need to turn the effective resolution down for other games, and hardly any mobile setup could run 4k natively for intensive games, except maybe the GT80.
 
The panel size is too small anyway. Really dont understand why people wanna 4K on laptop.

So I took the plunge and bought the Aorus x7 pro sync. Always been an hardware enthusiast but never been n big front runner of mobile hardware (although I have a sony z4 tablet and dell xps 13).

First impressions are, what a machine, build quality excellent and performance unheard of in my spectrum for mobile performance. As all reviews, the machine has its fair share of troubles, loud fans, gets hot, not the best speakers etc. but overall this is a beast with everything you throw at it, i would say, as stable as a desktop performance.

Spent most of the last week on the machine, i wear a decent headset so fans did not in the least irritate me. I also did not run it at 100% all the time so heat levels never caught my attention but when i did it didn't bother me that under heavy load the machine does get a tad hot.. I would however not run it at full load for longer than 2-3 hours at a time, but that's just my opinion.

The best thing for me (being a usual desktop gamer) is its on the move, grab headset mouse and charger and there you go, casual satellite reign in front of the TV while watching boring Chelsea lose again, setups some comfortable place for some competitive dota or some hardcore battlefield. It does come at a price though having a full beast of a laptop being capable of running anything like a desktop and i know its not for all but its exactly what i was looking for. Mobility/performance/ease of use etc.

If anyone have any questions please feel free to ask?

A good choice!!

If l have the budget like you, making a decision between Aorus and MSI would be the main problem that I have to face. :)
