In that case selling kids are the black market is not something any of us should object to either. Since it's a simple business transaction.

And this statement? Pretty black and white. Just because 2 things are illegal, doesn't make them equally undesirable. Child trafficking and child prostitution should never and will never become legalized.

Forced child marriages is another abomination, but that's for the PD section.

no 2 leagalising it ..we have enough filth in this country already ....if any1 wants a "job" go do it @ home or in a hotel somewhere .....totally against that 2 though coz DONT U PEEPS KNOW THATS HOW U GET AIDS .....man people are still playing with fire even though aids is out there

Why is it always the vocal minority that cause conflict in our communities? The poll indicates that the majority of people here have the right morals.

Its the same with the religious debates. The vocal minority want it and the freedom of speech with it gone.

You have to be 18 to post here:o

Exactly. If you can't say that one thing is immoral, how can you say that another is? What is particularly immoral about any of the things pitbull listed? Don't shove your artificial morality down my throat. I can steal from you if I choose to.

You sure can, but because of the morals of society you will have to carry the burden going with it.

I just want to know this, how do we choose which morals are ok and which are not ?

Should we just chuck all morals out of the window that has been enforced for 1000's of years and go back to hitting woman over the head, drag them into a cave, mate and then kick them out again ? Isn't morals the one single most important thing that differentiate us from animals ? If morals are dropped completely we are animals, free to do what we like to who we like without any repercussions.

Lucky for us then, that you are here to "enlighten" us.

Unless you ask each and everyone in SA to cast their vote here it doesn't make it valid. It doesn't mean because MyBB says it should be so that it must change. It's just to get a feel for what the people on MyBB think about the subject. Call it research if you will :p

i feel a 1 man 1 woman relationship is still the right thing .....if ur gay thats ur own thing have nothing against any gay person out there but think about it literally if u have 1 partner u dont run the risk of contracting Aids ...So why get in2 the whole prostitution thing .....I know its extremely hard coz some of those men and women have families that they have 2 feed ,but are u telling me that there is no better/other work out there ??

All his examples involve hurting people. The laws dealing with those situations are not "morality" in action, its a concept called live and let live, in a mutual symbiotic relationship designed to be fair for everyone in all cases. Its not morality, its equality.

And my argument is that prostitution is deeply harmful to the women involved, and there is a strong case to be made that legalising it does nothing to change that. You think it's a case of a simple business transaction - eliminating morality from the equation - but that transaction is sustained by a hugely corrupt and exploitative industry. Legalisation where it is practised only provides a facade of respectability to the criminals who entrap women into sexual servitude and drug addiction, not to mention the lasting damage done to them by years of what really amounts to sexual abuse by the men who trade with them.

Would you approve of the concept of selling sex for money if the exploitation could somehow be excluded?

Legalise it and stop wasting time and money when it achieves nothing. Rather focus on the welfare of the workers.

Thanks for the reply. This is exactly what I'm referring to. Your belief and moral structure means you cannot agree with this practice. That's fine! What's not fine is that you need to force your beliefs down on others by saying they may not do something. I believe the fact that it's illegal is wrong and the choice should be theirs. If you don;t agree with it, that's fine but you must not stop them from doing what they deem to be right.

If we, as a society, allowed ourselves to be led by the morals of peoples belief systems, all women would be wearing burkas(sp?) and not be allowed to show anything but their eyes. Would you be opposed to that? Many people consider Western women to be immoral because of their lifestyles.

All I'm saying is, think about something from someone else's perspective before condemning their actions. The world would certainly be a much more peaceful place! :)

How am i forcing my morals on anyone? I'm just saying i object to it because i feel the same criminal element would exist regardless of legalities. I'm allowed to do that. Just as you are allowed to say you have no problem with it.

As for the other comment i made about business transactions. Someone made a comment about it just being a business transaction. So i compared it to child slavery since that is also a business transaction. What makes the one okay and the other not? Sex for money is fine but children for money isn't? What is the difference is all i want to know? I'm trying to have a discussion and see where your perspective lies. Instead i am just getting attacked for my own moral belief system. I should be open to other people's views yet nobody seems very open to mine.

are they gonna legalize weed too? I mean, I heard Holland is making weed and shrooms illegal again, so maybe we should legalize it and get more tourists here :p

Exactly! That's more eloquent than i was :)
