Prompt support, answer any questions, have user friendly website, excellent service

Been with them for years now, through all the ups and downs (ADSL/VDSL/Fibre). Had my arguments with them a couple of years ago, almost to the point of leaving. Circumstances had me staying a couple of months longer at the time and here I am , still with them. I was lucky that my ADSL/VDSL connectivity was almost always at full speeds, due to my close proximity to the "Exchange equipment" :) Currently on an AH/Openserve combo, also runnning at full 200/100 speeds locally. I haven't had reason lately to make use of their support, hence my rating :)
Thanks for your kind words! It is great to hear your feedback. It is very much appreciated.

new to this ISP, using their fixed LTE offering on Telkom. Biggest issue is the loadshedding causing the towers to shut down.
Ping: 20ms
Download: 10.91Mbps
Upload: 4.12Mbps

Third ISP I have used in 8 years. And must say great Service so far been with them for 2 years now

I've been using them for about 2 yrs now. I have mostly great service and great quality internet. Whenever I logged a ticket, it was dealt with professionally and had a resolution in good turn around time. Only had an issue that upset me once, and that was when my package cost was doubled and I was not made aware, they debited my account and I had to contact them to find out why and subsequently had to downgrade from my 100Mbs line to fit into my budget. But still, it was all handled very well and I was impressed. I've advocated business for Afrihost on many occasions based on the good service I received. Not every day we find this in good ol' SA

Afrihost for the win.

category [rating]
  • value-for-money [excellent]
  • network quality [good]
  • support [beyond excellent]
;)

I would have given AH 4.5 stars but am unable to, only because they don't offer any unlimited or v large Fixed LTE packages, max is 150+150GB which in 2020 is not sufficient for many streaming/gaming users.

For speeds, web and mob app functionality and ease of use, service reliability + uptime and support I rate them 5/5.

Recommended.

We joined Afrihost in 2017 after having Openserve fibre optic cable installed. The speed fluctuates on occasions but the service, feedback and pricing is excellent.

Afrihost Fibre, no problems thus far. Awesome service and support

Speed isn't always good, but their service has been great.

Been with Afrihost for at least 15 years, when stuff works it tends to work well, but the moment you have to interact with Service Staff your world turns to ****, i have never met a group of people who could give less of a **** about the messes they can create, from snotty one line answers like "We are not providing the SSL certificate for mail.client.server*" which is not apparent when they changed contrast stipulations on this and unstated when you buy a service", and of course they profess to care. They disappear Ticket requests on your Client Zone, and on and on, i should write a book. Currently i have an issue with a web adres that is being hosted there and i have been invoiced a second time for already where the Domain name has not been registered with the Nic even though Afrihost Cpanel is active for it no Ping reply. Fortunately for the most part stuff do not fail once you have eventually struggled through the activation phase, they do seem to spend more on Hardware than people, although they recently started skimping on Hosting Software and no longer has Support beyond Office hours, so at night when i work i'm on my own. I would really appreciate it if someone can confirm if Herzner or some other ISP's are more people and quality oriented in their service, i don't mind paying even double for less stress?

I'm happy with afrihost customer service from their staff's side, but that being said, afrihost is just the middle man and telkom package I have from them is the most mediocre at best Internet that I have experienced.. So this poll is kinda stupid to include afrihost with direct providers.

Consistently provides the speed that I am paying for. Their WhatsApp support is first rate too. I would prefer to have fibre through underground cables but Vumatel overhead will have to do as that is all that is available in Florida.

Their Web Hosting really sucks for commercial use but as an ISP their service is great!
