I'm also looking into this. I saw a few original Samsung batteries on bidorbuy for like R150
http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/218798600/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_4_Replacement_Battery.html

I measured one of these "looks like genuine" Samsung batteries. Came in at 500mAh 1/3rd of the rating...

If you buy Samsung battery, at least make sure that the packaging looks like the original. You can buy "looks like genuine" batteries for R25 from distributors.

If you can still find an original samsung for your phone, it is worth the extra cost, they often measure higher than rated capacity, and also have lower internal resistance.

Yeah makes sense. Do you know what the Samsung stores charge?

Good day @wentworth65,

Just saw your post on mybroadbrand.co.za and wanted to make sure that we are on the same page.
I'm afraid this post isn't reflecting the image of our brand.
Raz Tech has been officially launched in 2015 with an official e-commerce Website.
Our start on Takealot was in 2014. Believe that we've always put quality in the center of our concerns.
We are now producing our own Smartphone Batteries, designed and comparable to the original batteries.
I don't know if a Raz Tech product you purchased made you unhappy, but if it's the case, we're sorry to hear that and would love to hear more about this issue.
Let me specify that we're far from fake, this comment would need further information and, note we offer a 6-month warranty on all our products.
Thank you for your understanding, :)

If you would like to tell us more about your discontent, feel free to send us an email at [email protected]

My best regards,
RT Manager

@Tsepz_011,
I hope you found a quality battery for your smartphone.
I trust MTN is a really reliable supplier. We recommend also.
FYI, we are supplying different platforms and are looking at going in retail also for companies as MTN.

Kind regards,
RT Manager

You joined to quote a post that happened a year ago?

Don't bother with Raz tech. Bought some of their cover and temepered glass from takealot and they are clearly repackaged Chinese stuff from aliexpress.

Yes, one year ago, we missed this post. Thank you for the notification.

We think it's fair to give a decent explanation to a disappointed customer + we would like to hear more about this past issue.

Unfortunate bad experience with us

Hi @Adoxographist,

I trust you're well.

Thank you for your "nice and warm" message. :)
Unfortunately, I would suggest a small investigation before spreading rumors full of negativity and prejudices.
We are not working with Aliexpress. We don't need them, they don't need us.
We worked with our own suppliers - local ones and also few from China. For some of the trendy/new or technical accessories for the last Smartphones'/Laptops' models, we're producing our products through our partners - recognized factories.

Note that we are interested in various opinions, even if it's a good or a bad one, we would just appreciate an email or a call instead of an unpleasant post on a forum.

Once you've received your products, you've got the right to be unhappy. We are doing our best to satisfy all our customers. If you're not, please, contact us, don't keep quiet and we'll find a solution to resolve the issue and make you happy. We offer a 6-months warranty and a 15-days return policy in order to ensure our customers the best experience.

We're not claiming to be perfect, who can do it nowadays? We're a young company, with a real ethic and motivation, we working hard to enhanced the performance and quality of our products, to improve our level of customer's satisfaction and make our way to the top of the fully appreciated brands.

Thank you,

Wish you a nice day,

We hope that you're going to give us a new try in the future,

So to sum it up, you just repackage products.

Anyways you guys seem to be trying on the customer service side so I will give you props for that.

Dear RT Manager

Although I appreciate the dedication you show to your brand - and commend you for engaging your clientele - the same can't be said of your sales staff.

I had a prime example of "This is Africa" when dealing with your staff on a query regarding the actual capacity of a Galaxy Note 2 battery.

The exchange between us in summary was:

---
(me): I'm looking for a Note 2 battery, could you confirm that it is to manufacturer specification as per your product description claims - since I've had issues with Chinese clones.

(sales): The mAh is 3200

(me): Is that actual or sticker rating?

(sales): I googled it

(me): Yes, that is the original spec, but what is the actual spec of YOUR battery, since many companies have a sticker rating and different actual rating

(sales): Our rating of our battery is quite good.
---

Now you'll have to agree that this rather simple question turned into something worthy of Mac Maharaj. Much was said... but nothing of relevance... -_- .

The reality doesn't play well with your painting a picture of a highly efficient and to manufacturer specification quality product.

Raztech, genuine good products or just lip service - help the man above?

Bought one of these batteries for a S4 last year - lasted half the time of the dead Samsung battery I was replacing it with - returned to takealot for a refund.

The other issue I had is the phone would say 15% left or 20% left - and would then just die... battery dead.
