*READ FIRST* iBurst Billing & Customer Service Queries

Hello Gcebile,

I first tried the helpdesk without success. I them PM'ed you and got no response. I have also sent you a direct email without response to my below query.

My Total After Hours Usage has not changed since the 2nd July. ( 605.71 MB )
I have done all my "big" downloads between midnight and 8am, yet I do not seem to be getting the 60% saving on my 5GB package. Everything is coming straight off my normal bandwidth allocation.
Is this 60% on a 5GB package automatically granted to you, or do I need to be applying for this somewhere ?

Why are you not responding at all ?

Strangely, at one point I noticed my After Hours usage stuck on 1622.x MB. I had multiple GB's usage on my 'Downloaded' counter and STILL had 30MB's remaining, This on a 2GB account, which is impossible. Only a few days into July and since then I'm stuck on 64K! Now the After Hours usage seems to be counting, but it still shows more usage during "Normal' time than After Hours?

Strange. Tues night seems to be the first night, where the usage seems to have been calculated correctly. Hopefully, it stays that way !!

The Loch Ness Monster, The Yetty and the iBurst Customer Services Manager - All Myths

Just wondering whether anyone has EVER received a response from iBurst Customer Services?

Though I have been given the name and direct email address of the Customer Services Manager I have heard nothing from him in two months despite several emails and messages left. I am now beginning to think it would be easier to get hold of the Loch Ness Monster or the Yetty. Even Telkom is more responsive.

It took us 6 weeks to get our iBurst account set up because a username and password from a previous account remained linked to our account, thereby causing all sorts of connection problems. We called - spending a fortune on airtime because the only other phone we have is the iBurst phone which, of course, didn't work, we emailed, we were promised to be called back on several occasions but never were. The entire process was excruciatingly frustrating and now we discover we have been charged for services during that period when we couldn't even use them. We wrote to explain the situation to iBurst and though we received a message (two months ago) saying a superviser would contact us shortly have heard nothing since.

Since our internet was finally set up it has generally worked well (the same cannot, however, be said for iCall) but I absolutely cannot recommend iBurst because of the abysmal customer service we have received.

If you are thinking of signing up to iBurst think again... Oh, and if you do work for iBurst Customer Services perhaps you could deign to respond to your customers.

I find contacting Gcebile normally works, either PM her on forums (iBurst username) or send her a mail. Ronald should be able to help as well.

I found that actually the quickest way to resolve username issues is to just have a new username, such as adding a number to the end of your username.

Future advise for anyone returning to iburst.

Thanks. We had a new username, the problem was that we were given an account number etc that it turned out had been used for a previous subscriber and that previous subscribers' username, password etc hadn't been fully deleted from that account, hence all the problems.

I normally just e-mail gcebile and ronald when I have an issue. Works best.

Iburst Accounts - Address Update

I am all of out of ideas. I have been trying to get my address details updated with Iburst since I don’t know when. Last week I emailed and phoned and was promised that my correct address would be displayed on my new invoice for August. And it wasn’t, phone again this morning and I was told that my September invoice would be correct. So I promise you come September it’s still not going to be ok.

This is absolutely ridiculous. This has been going on for 3 years. I sent emails, get replies that everything was corrected on their system and that my new invoice is attached and guess what nothing is attached. I reply saying you forgot to attach the invoice and then it’s just quiet again.

Like I said all out of ideas.

Need help getting iburst to cancel my debit order... P L E A S E!

Like many others, I have been double billed this month. After talking to my bank, they advised me that iburst can cancel the debit order on their side.
Seeing as iburst can just charge any amount they want, whenever they please, I can't give the bank an actual amount to block.

I am very frustrated. I was put on hold this morning for an hour, after I was transferred to the Credit Admin department at the head office. I hung up after an hour and have been trying relentlessly to get a hold of someone who can help me since Friday.

A support agent told me that they'll phone me back.... I'm not going to hold my breath.

That's all that I want, to get iburst's sticky fingers out of my bank account. I don't trust them, I'll pay manually!

iBurst: My bank account is NOT your private little piggy bank where you can withdraw money!! You are in breach of contract!!

i had a similiar issue with cancelling insurance, just call your bank and cancel/block the debit order

Be careful with that, otherwise the recipient may very well blacklist you.

The correct way of doing it is to inform the recipient that you wish to terminate your service/change your payment method, and have them acknowledge your request in writing. Then go ahead and cancel the debit order.

Um, this is iBurst we're talking about here, never going to happen. Your best bet is to close the account that has the debit order on it and to then open a different account. You will NEVER get this sorted out with iBurst. I've been trying for a year unsuccessfully to try to get them to stop debiting my account :(

Thanks guys

Unfortunately, I can't cancel the debit order without a specific amount. So I can cancel the amount that's supposed to be debited (R208) but if they decide to debit another R209 that same month, it'll go through. That's my dilemma...

I have another option of blocking any iBurst transaction from my bank account, but the bank warned me that my other debit orders might be affected by this, so that's not an option.

The bank told me that iBurst has the power to cancel the debit order on their side, but iBurst told me they can't cancel it because it'll be in breach of contract (oh... the irony!)

When I asked to speak to someone higher up, I was told that I was in "advanced account support" and there was no one else I could speak to.

If you guys have any other suggestions, please let me know. I'm at the end of my rope

Hi, If you have a absa bank account and internet banking, you can actaully block the debit order yourself. I've done it a few times already and it great, nice thing is you can unblock when you need to.

I say go with what Valis said.

But first, using a derivative of "Mike Hoxbig" suggestion, send a registered letter iburst them informing them you are canceling, don't ask to cancel, TELL THEM you ARE canceling. Then you have proof of delivery.

Then close your account and open another one (i know, its a shlep).

Flip, someone needs to do something about iburst, this overbilling is getting a bit much hey. Surely the consumer has rights?
