Rebeltech poor service

MyBB turning into hello peter :D

As someone else said, most of these EFT online stores only act once they see the funds cleared in their account. PoP means nothing. So it could be that your funds are not yet showing in their account. It is the same with landmark computers, you only hear back from them a few days later once they receive the funds, and then do they only confirm stock.

This is what I like about wootware, they have bank accounts at all major banks so they get your money instantly and can let you know whats going on.

A credit card gateway would be even better but these come at a cost which always gets shifted to the consumer in higher prices.

So far, I can vouch for Wootware. Dimitri does an amazing job. And Rebeltech (and others) should really remove items from their website if they know that their suppliers will never keep stock of that item. Very misleading.

My experience with Rebeltech was that they check stock 1st before giving the go-ahead to pay. In fact, the 1st mail you get confirming your purchase request states clearly that you must wait until they confirm stock availability before making a payment. Only once you receive the stock confirmation e-mail do you get the ok to make payment. Always has been that way.

Some of these small online retailers are a joke. You have to wait for stock? They don't accept credit cards? Is this amateur hour? These days you can't afford to be retailer that doesn't accept credit cards.

People expect a few things when they buy online:

1) They expect to be able to pay by credit card

2) They expect next day delivery, or within the next 3 days at most

3) They expect you to have stock on hand. Why put a product up on your website if you don't have stock? Why even allow the item to go into a customer's shopping cart if you don't have stock?

4) They expect a slick, up-to-date website with a good modern design.

I cringe with embarrassment when I see how some of these South African online shops operate. They really are a bunch of amateurs.

As far as online shopping for PC components go, have you have a look at Evetech?

I bought a high end PC from them a couple months ago and I was very satisfied with their level of service.
I think their prices are reasonable aswell.

Fack these guys. They don't know their arse from their elbow. Poor service.

I was promised earlier in the week they have the mobo I ordered (after 2 failed attempts earlier) in stock. Now apparently the mobo has been damaged during transportion.

Now I have to order a new one which is more expensive than the previous one. R1488 for ASrock extreme 4 M.

Can I just ask for my money back? I don't care if I have to pay more for this. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

2 weeks for a faking order

I'm also having very bad service from Rebeltech.

I ordered 3 items just over a month ago. They delivered 2/3 items 8 days later (when I realized they didn't have stock of the 3rd item, I asked them to send what they had.)
Then the order got canceled. Then I ask them what's going on, and they tell me "both" items were delivered, and what's my inquiry? :wtf:
I tell them to check the order, and they of course check the wrong order, and it takes a week before they eventually realize that the order is still active, and find the proof of payment I sent, and then apologize for the delay, but nothing further happens.

They take a minimum of 24 hours to reply to an email, usually it's 2 or more days.
They do not keep you updated via email.
Their system appears to be in chaos, as evidenced above.

Very unhappy about the poor service. The prices are good, but it's not worth saving R100 if you have to wait 4 weeks, and waste hours of time getting them to do their job.

I know what you mean. Mail them today, 2 days later they give you some run-around story and make all sorts of promises littered with apologies... a week later, they don't know what you're on about and you start the whole process over again. They never keep you informed either. On occasions, I got the tracking number sent to me days after the courier had dropped off the parcel. I have also realized it's just not worth the stress to save a little and have to deal with the unnecessary stress of being given the run-around, the fruitless promises and having to do all follow-ups myself.

In Russia this schite would end up with people being kneecapped. Fair!?

Wootware is excellent. I order online, my stuff is usually ready to collect the following day. After sales support is also great.

Exactly.

I emailed and phoned rebeltech last thursday. They promised stock on Tuesday. It's now a week later, and I haven't heard a single word from them. :wtf: 5 weeks waiting, no joy.

How does the consumer act protect you if they don't/won't give your money back?

Did you speak to Rune directly? I recently ordered from Rebeltech and they had stock of everything except the mouse I was looking for, which they got quickly enough. I had my order just over a week later. A little slow going, but everything was done right and it all works as expected.

Maybe you should pester them for information at least twice a day? People are forgetful and some just need a bit of pushing to get things done.

You can Tweet to Rune directly, its faster than e-mail.
