Router Battery Backup

This is the one I would choose aswell, just because it has included DC cables x 2. Router and ONT sorted. Place to charge phone, winning!
Yeah it looks pretty great!

I'm wanting to move the inverter to the office, closer the TV and then have one of these purely for the internet gubbins

Only thing is the lack of other voltages of course, some of the other mini UPS have some more voltage options

Ok I just got the Ratel 860P because of you guys and it seems really nifty. Initial impressions are that I like it. It is so light. I thought it would be heavier. I plugged into my router and left it...and it works fine. Turned the plug off and it just works so thats good. Like others have said though... these cables are so short! Both the mains power cable and the DC to DC cable are freaking tiny! There is no reason for these cables to be that small. It seems like a joke almost.

Edit: Also the postage was super fast from Communica. Order at 1 on Wednesday and arrived at 10 on Thursday. Great stuff!

Congrats, enjoy your internet during power cuts.

Seems like a good price:
Reasonable price, Inc Connection had them going for R 799 till end of January.

Stupid question maybe, I see a lot of people asking for a UPS for laptops - don't the laptops have batteries?
With you, but I also wonder if those powebanks for mobile devices can be used to charge laptops that have a USBC input connector?

We have some 30000mAH power banks and wonder if that couldn't help get one out of a bind (haven't done a Google search as yet) but also too scared to try on my laptop. Maybe I should try while it still has its 3 year dell warranty

Nothing to be scared of, you won't break anything.

Most laptops charge at 19V over usb-c, you'll need to confirm that your power bank can deliver that.

Edit: I have an energiser XP2001PD which I use for my laptop (and other devices).

so i got my mini PC, did a very quick test and the ratel 860p actually powers it on.
is it save to use?
the power on the miniPC is 19v and the ratel is only 12v
max tdp on the minipc is 35w

What minipc exactly? Running a 19V device at 12V aint exactly optimal. It might work, but it could be unstable under moderate loads etc. I see the ratel 860P can deliver 15.8V over POE, and that is better than running the mini pc at 12V, but it shows a limit of 16W while the 24V option is limited to 24W. (Do not run a 19V device at 24V!)

So I have my Ratel 8100 set up and it works great. One question I have is do the batteries degrade if I leave the unit plugged in permanently in line with my routers? I am happy to basically only plug it in when load shedding occurs switching over at that point and charging it fully after and then leaving it mostly unplugged and off perhaps top up charging it once a month when we are in longer periods of no load shedding.

Thoughts?

I've had my Gizzu for about a year and a half. It's always plugged in and it still handles a 2.5 hour load shedding with ease.

I'm running an OpenServe ONT, ubiquity edge router x and ubiquity AC Lite access point.

I'm trying to get clarification on the output - 1A/12w isn't much.
@xrapidx Hey, where you able to get confirmation of this? My router power supply says it needs 1.5A/12v and the ONT 1.0A/12v.

I'm keen to get one but worried my router won't work...
