Router Battery Backup

Anyone have any success with a 48V POE battery backup unit????

Or, only alternative would be to use an AC Inverter.
That's essentially the route I've had to go...

My first prototype wasn't too successful, 5 out of 6 12v power supplies popped, one blew up in my face when I turned it on the first time.

The inverter I used drew significantly less current that I anticipated, around 1.5A for an AT injector and with an 18Ah battery this meant it could easily do 4-5 hours

I'm now moving into computer UPS's on the 18Ah batteries

It could be because it's not actively cooled. The Solarwise unit has a fan, right?
I don't think so, just has a smaller batter bank. I don't think any of these mini ups's have fans. They're all silent afaik.
Are we talking about this one:
Nice specs and features, just has less storage so won't last as long but I guess it just has to last 2 hours so it's irrelevant if it can last 6 hours and the ellies 12 hours. All depends on what you are trying to power I guess.

Like @wingnut771 said none of them have fans except the UltraLAN Micro UPS (DC & PoE) - 60W 17.6AH :)

Just for info i found out yesterday a couple of batterie suppliers told me that there is a global shortage of 18650 cells and most of these mini ups's are using them. So I suspect price increases is on the table again if it continues.

This is the one I have, is basically the same as the Ratel 8100.

I run my Asus RT-AC68U on the 19v output as well as two IP cameras on the 12v outputs, and it handles over 4 hours with plenty of reserve.

You will need to get a DC Power adaptor kit to get the correct plug for the back of the Asus Router. I got mine from Unshed My Load, but I see they are no longer taking orders. Not sure who sells them locally.

From the dc adapters which one fits the RT-AC68U or that range all different?

Would 19v @ 3A power it?
No I think I need 20V/5A to get 90-100W (sorry, cant remember the exact calcs).

Anyways, this small and portable power bank powers my notebook 2-4 hours supplying 90W, and then I still have the laptop battery left as it keeps it fully charged while working on it:
