Router Battery Backup

Nice, solar input, I’ve never seen that before on small battery banks. So that’s assuming it has a built in solar controller/regulator?
You can just connect the solar panel straight from the panel to the solar input?
From what I can tell it has a max of 12v 2A Solar input. IMO very slow charging but charging nontheless. I have not used it tbh but from a couple of Googles it seems possible. Might just buy a cheapy pane on ebay and test it out for shits and giggles. Might make for a viable portable power harnessing device on your vehicles when camping etc.

Yeah but then you might as well charge it from the lighter socket :D

Can one take the 24V POE output and convert the other end to a 4.5/5mm? Or is it not that simple….?
Not really sure how PoE works. Maybe some of the IT networking guys can shed some light on this.
Alternatively, you could play around with PoE splitters. The passive ones might work.

Seems Netogy's sold out everywhere now that I am ready to pull the trigger :(

Anyone know of anywhere with stock?
Web Africa has stock.

EDIT: I should learn to read the whole thread. But I can assure you guys WA has stock.

Anyone powering a computer monitor during loadshedding? What's the cheapest way to do it? 24" Dell LCD.

Works perfectly.

I need one of these!!! Built or bought?

Built.

I bought the connector from Uniterm Direct (www.dbg.co.za) and made the cable up myself.

Just double check which wires are carrying the power.

I think (can't remember now) that you also need to check the polarity.

Edit: I actually redid that one since it was way too short.

Used it to provide power from PoE port on this

to this

which is powering two Unifi AC-LITE.

The Ultralan is therefore powering a fibre ONT, fibre router, PoE injector and two AP's.

Works a treat - full speed Internet and wifi throughout LS

Picked up an Ellies mini cube this morning. It looks like they have changed the wH being advertised from previously 105wH to now 97.68wH

Also ordered a Netogy. At R999 from Webafrica, it's a good deal.

Any way to use the 19V/5A DC port to power a laptop using USB-C?

The laptop power brick lists the following output profiles:

5V/3A
9V/3A
15V/3A
20V/3.25A

So ordered the Netogy from WebAfrica yesterday, delivered today

Plugged it in about 1.5 hours before load shedding, it already had over 50% charge so had indicated charged up before load shedding… however it only lasted 1 hour

Annoying on this is that when I put power back (genny) the darn Netogy doesn’t automatically turn on, you have to manually turn it on

So have to mount / locate within reach..

The Netogy UPS is an online UPS.
If you turned it on with the power button and provided it with AC power then even when its battery runs flat it will turn on the moment AC power is restored.
If you are needing to manually turn it on then it means you could have a faulty unit. Please test and confirm if it is not behaving correctly.

1 hour does not sound right. Was it just a router ?

Doesn’t switch on automatically, letting it charge up fully before testing again

Weird though, it’s 1 hour on AC power and LEDs indicate it’s fully charged (from having run flat)
