Router Battery Backup

ok just checked the Amp draw, combined they need 2.5A and this only puts out 1amp. Returning... it can't power them both even though it has a splitter.
How did you check the amp draw?

If you checked the specs on the adapters that is only the maximum specs it does not mean the device will draw that amount.

Also if it struggles to power on both devices simultaneously when you switch on the ups. Then you plug in one device first and let it power/boot up then plug in the second device. I had to do it with a friends one and both devices stays on when powered with the ups.

so jumping on the Mini UPS trend, got myself a 8000 Mah mini UPS for the Huawei B618 and my ONT, as well as my Deskside USB light.

its a start, but it does not last long, maybe 3 hours before it runs out of juice.

You may see reduced wifi range , if the radio can't transmit at max power

Seems my Netogy cannot run a switch + CCTV DVR + 8 x cameras for 2 and a half hours, going to unplug the 4 least needed cameras to run directly from mains power and see how it does.

Placing one of these or similar in line with your existing mini ups is a quick and easy/cheap way to extend your capacity.

Yes those R600 no name brand mini ups is not worth it, mostly cheap batteries that will die soon.

hmmm, I didn't know you can do that.

...

NETOGY Mini 13200mAh:
when they say 13200mAh, how does one determine what the Wh is?
Is the 13200mAh at 12V or 3.7V?

Yeah you multiply ah by cell voltage to get wh. I'm assuming those are 3.7v so it should be around 49Wh.

I don't see why it would not work.

My Huawei 4G router came with a similar UPS but with one exception: it takes 12v in and outputs 9v. I have been using it in line with other mini UPSes for a long time now.

Just make sure that the amps are adequate for your router...

OK cool. Just trying to get my head around it. So say you have

(1) UPS connected to (2) UPS and then to (3) Router

Then number 2 will think it's still getting external power until number 1 is flat and then takes over ?

Excuse my lack of knowledge of these things.

Yes my first mini UPS plugs onto AC power form the wall, then one of the 12v output ports plugs onto the input of the "in line" ups and then the output of the in "line ups" plugs onto the router.

You'll need to make sure that the output amps are sufficient...

With switch + CCTV DVR + 4 x cameras it can handle a 2 x half hour LS session. Will have to make a plan for the longer sessions.

I have one of these powering my switch, dvr with hdd and the 4 cameras with a 19" LED screen never went down since i installed the ups that was 5 months ago.

I have one of these too. It's cool because it shows you the output wattage and the input voltage on the mains, in real time. Use it for my main router.

To bad that they are out of stock and expensive elsewhere.
Saw the exact same product is also branded as Lava.

Yes. However it doesn't say it uses LFP batteries. Maybe it's the same as with Vizia. Their mini UPS devices claim they contain LG Chem Li Ion cells but they look the same as no name brands for half the price at Geewiz.

Builder's has the Titan product as does Bradlows:

Builders' offers a discount for pensioners on some days, so send your dad to buy it if you're out of that age bracket.
