Router Battery Backup

I think those are the same as these Elecstor 18W Mini DC UPS 12000mAh - 38WH
Cool got the geewiz branded. Good service from them - constant updates and overnight delivery to cpt.

I did buy 1 for someone at N1 City not online though but they only had 2 left in store this morning.

Also available at builders for R1599 but the only 2 stores with stock is in JHB and Alberton they guy in store at cape gate said they can order from other branches if your local store does not have stock
I tried to order it online from a JHB store to me in Durban, and I can only assume their delivery fee is to hire a private jet to fly directly to me...

So I have an issue with my Rain router and POE.

I have:
Rain Outdoor CPE -> POE Injector -> Mikrotik -> AP
Mini DC UPS powers POE Injector (15v) and AP
The Mikrotik does not get power directly from the UPS, it seems the POE Injector is powering the Rain and Mikrotik? Which is weird.
When I plug the POE Injector (LAN Side) into the AP, there is a red light that comes on on the DC UPS and the AP is not picked up.

How would this one work?
Any recommendations?
Portable Power Station

No one will be able to assist without knowing the voltage. Especially if you are looking for a mini type of UPS, in the South African venacular, as in a DC to DC ups.

You mentioned 65w (although I suspect the laptop uses less), for 4 hours, and I am ignoring the built-in battery for a moment/using it as headroom, meaning you need 65*4=~260wh. The linked ups only has 128-167wh, depending on the source you trust. Only half of what you need. Although the laptop battery might be able to carry you the rest of the way. How long does the internal battery last?

Builders basically actively discourages people from buying stock outside of a 30 km radius. I once tried to get a fan from a branch about 70kms away and they wanted almost R1000 to deliver it.

Charger is 65 watt 19 volts, apparently it needs a PD charger of 65 watts, or it will not charge.

The internal battery lasts, lets say 2 hours of light work.

Your expanation, above, gives an idea, of what I may need and is a good starting point. Appreciated.

So, thinking about this further, a Gizzu 242, or 292, would be about what I should be looking at.

Would rather err on the side of bigger margin, than just cutting it on the line. Batteries are likely to last some what longer that way.

i got mouths to feed
You're obviously joking. I have a 7ah Securi-prod in my home made version and it works great. (Even at elevated prices that's still under a grand). I used to have 2x 8AH SLA's in parallel, which also worked very well. And they lasted 2 years.

Someone asked this as well, anyone have any ideas?

@Dolby, my nephew is considering the 1200W River EcoFlow.

If I remember correctly, you purchased one of these a couple of months ago.

Would you recommend it?
Yes & no.

I bought it because it was relatively well priced at the R6,999 end of life sale - and I liked the fact that I could still use a 2nd (albeit proprietary) battery . But I soon learnt that they drop producing those batteries and even though they advertise them, you couldn't get any. A bit dodge, I think ... But other than that, it performs well ... can limit charging capacity to save battery ... can use high speed charging if needed ... 100w USB C ... etc

Would I buy another ? Nope !

River 2 is also R6,999 now with a LiFePO4 battery . They reduced capacity slightly, lowered the USB C PD, 600w I think… and a few other changes. I'd still take it over the 'negatives' of the new one .

But why for a router backup ?
Isn't that overkill?

I've just bought one of these for R1,800.00 for router

I’ve only had it 2 weeks or so - but the quality is great! It’s got a proper kettle plug at the back, a fan (never heard it come on though), LCD display and a metal enclosure.

For R1,800!

It says 100W, but can it push 100W through one USB-C output to charge, for example, a Macbook Pro that has a 87W USB-C charger?

Or is the total output of all the ports simultaneously "up to 100W"?

I have no idea ... I haven't tried anything other than my router .

But I would expect 100w total .

I don't have a Macbook - but let me go plus in a 40w phone

EDIT : My 40w phone is USB A ; and my iPhone is 99% full ... :(

I think its the exact same unit as the Elecstor 100W which says it supplies 15W through the USBC
