Router Battery Backup

Ah ok, different model but I guess the charging / indicator issue is the same, although perhaps someone who has that one will chime in.

I ordered the Gizzu 60W 69Wh mini-UPS From Incredible connection last week and received it today.

It is this version:

I chose this over the Titan because it does POE. Note: this is the newer 69Wh version that comes with LiFePO4 batteries.

When taking it out of the box, it was immediately apparent that the plastic top section is bulging, as if it is being pressured from inside.

If anyone with this specific version of the Gizzu 60W 69Wh mini-UPS can check theirs for similar issues and let me know, that would be helpful. I need to decide what to do.

Return it. I have two - neither one bulges

There is no Ecoflow River 1200W. I have the River Max and I love it.

This one

My Ratel 8100 indicator lights seem to be reasonable accurate, and the JIAGENG one I have at work, as well. It seems to be the same as the Volkano one you can get from Vodacom.

Anyone have any experience with AGM batteries? Getting a 1.5k inverter soon and Lithium prices are somewhat over budget at the moment. Thinking of maybe grabbing a pair of ~50ah AGM's to tide me over for a few months. If I can get them for a decent price.

Rather get the cheapest LA you can find, more bang for buck than AGM or gel, and then start saving for LFP.

Not gonna get LA in that size. Or I haven't seen any. I'd need 2x 50Ah or 4x 25. Maybe 2x 40 at a push.

Why 50Ah? I'm sure you can find flooded below 100Ah, but maybe you can find 100Ah flooded for the price of a 50Ah AGM?

I think the smaller you go the less value for money you get.

Remind me of your current situation?

why not get maximum Ah that can fit?
You can then lower your DOD which will make the batteries last longer

Thanks.

He really appreciated the advice.
Not problem!

I don't want to derail this thread further but here is a guide on how to size a power station should he be interested: https://southafricanconsumer.co.za/2023/02/20/sizing-a-power-station-inverter-trolleys-solutions/

Tell him to check out the EcoFlow SA Facebook page if he has some questions.

Ps don't overpay for the Delta 2. It should be no more than 25k, some sharks on tal are trying to sell them for 27k - 32k.

These mini ups with lithium batteries...are people plugging their routers etc. in manually every time the power goes out or just leaving the ups plugged in 24/7?

Also anyone bought female/female DC connectors locally? Will make switching cables over a lot easier if it's better not to have the ups always plugged in.

You keep them plugged in permanently.

Well it's a UPS, always plugged in. If you need more cables check www.geewiz.co.za

I ordered mine from evetech last week, got it yesterday. It's not the newer battery as far as I know (as advertised) but it certainly doesn't have a bulge, I'd return that fast. It has a slight curve but you can see it's the design but that is clearly showing something is wrong. Haven't had it long enough to test charge times etc but will post once I know. Sorry to hear of your one.
