Are you running it from a desktop? and the rest of the network is that connecting to you via a wired or wireless network?
If you are running with the router as your switch for a wired network then you might have problems because some of the routers lose their minds when they are set into bridge mode.

are the pc's getting their IP's via DHCP? and if so was/is the router playing the DHCP server role?

yeah i have this same problem...
i can access internet with both the local and international acc's...
and every1 can access the international...
but i can access every1 on the network but no-one can see me on the network or access me... and at times i cant see any1 but myself on the network...
my Router is DHCP...
its all wired....
is it just my router loosing its mind

I have PPPoE with pass-thru on my router is this the same as half bridged mode?
Get file not found when trying to download the beta??

Why dont you just configure 2 accounts on your adsl router one using the international account and the other using the local account all that needs to be done after that is to configure the static routing table with the south african ip addrersses, and there you go no need for proxy software etc.. local traffic to the ip addresses you defined in static routes gets routed via the local only account and all other traffic gets routed out the international account.

OK, can one of you maybe help me setting it all up and getting route sentry to work as I have tried but failed :(

PM me and we can talk about it over MSN...maybe even use remote assistant? :D
Thanks

I have this problem:

(but first, let me mention my setup)
Lan connection is my int account
BB connection is my local account
RS beta (for vista) is installed

When I have my connections all setup and running, i can't access int, or 'sometimes' i can but its horribly slow, even if no downloads are going.
My LAN also doesn't work, I can't see my moms pc.
HOWEVER, if i close RS, disconnect from the local account, repair the LAN connection, everything goes back to normal.

any idea why this happens?

Basically, I can't play any games or anything that require 'some' int access because simply, it doesn't work.

any ideas why this is happening?

Issues with PPP dial up connection disconecting?

Hi all

I have configured RS on my Vista Laptop ant it is working fine with a PPP connection over my WiFi, except that the PPP connection (the dial up one the RS connects when it is open) keeps disconnecting. This seems to happen every 30 min or so, RS reconnects it but it take another 3 or 4 minutes for my sw to realise that the connection is reestablished.

Any ideas on why this is? I cant see any weired settings in vista, perhaps my Zyxel wifi/dsl router?

EDIT: IM using latest RS Ver 0.05 Beta 4.

Hey,

Whats your signal strength like, my mega100 disconected the wifi like every 15min and then had to reconnect. My mega200 however is fine and doesnt disconnect, but it has better signal stength than the mega100.

Dan

100% sig strength, been through the whole xp / vista dropping wifi (took about 20 win updates to solve) now it stays up.

Its only the PPP (broadband 'dial up') connection that is doggy. I have now confirmed that is every 30 min I can watch it happen. . . . . very . .very strange!

Hey guys,

Sorry for reviving the thread again. I was wondering if anyone here can help solve a problem with regards to editing RS's routing table.

As some of you might know, COD4 got released this past Friday and the game is really popular, SGS already has 4 servers up and running.

Now the dillema that I and a lot of other SGS users are facing is the fact that we cannot get RS to work properly with the game. It uses an international account to authenticate the cdkey, but it doesnt connect one to the local server. It would just say connecting, and eventually timeout. However if one uses just your intl account, it connects perfectly with no problems whatsoever.

I had the same problem with COD2 as well. I'm using Vista Ultimate and on XP it did the exact same thing. Some users have tried (wanted to try this myself as well) is to authenticate on intl, and then alt-tab out of the game , enable your local account and switch back to the game, but one user reported that it disconnected him from the server.

Is there anyway to edit RS's routing table to perhaps include the authentication server for the cdkey in some way so that one will be able to authenticate internationally and then play using your local only account ? It works perfectly for all other games, its just with COD4 that we have this problem.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

:)

Hello All,

StoneCold, don't use routesentry for COD4... Do this:

1. Connect with your international account
2. Search for all the available SGS servers
3. Save these to your favorites
4. Exit COD4 and disconnect your international account
5. Connect using you local account and run COD4
6. Goto favorites and join a server
7. If you still are unable to connect then increase your connect limit to 60, I have a 4Mb line and it connects within 30. Not sure about slower lines.

It works fine with a local only account, the only issue is finding international servers. You may have an issue with COD4 saving the Favorites but re-adding them to the favorites normally resolves that.
