S6 explodes in my pocket

The OP would not have had time to run around the car and swipe the phone off the passenger seat. If the car was filled with smoke then the seat would have been seriously burnt or on fire. Every video I've seen of a phone "exploding" takes just seconds from smoking to full meltdown.

My S4 is still going strong, and it has a removable battery. It also heats up badly, but so far so good still.

The problem with unibody handsets, is that if a leakage does occur, it will run onto the board, and that accompanied by heat, any form of heat can cause serious damage.

I have to say something, while people generally put their phone in the pocket, its not ideal. There is sometimes no room for movement, and peoples body heat would cause moisture, and any moisture seeping into the phone, coupled by heat, could cause problems. Same applies to women who put their phone in their boobs , dont do that, you could get hurt.

I also want to say, dont use the phone while its charging, or over charge it. If it says fully charged, unplug it.

It is the last of the Note series to feature the removable battery. Phone heats up through accident ? no problem, pop the battery out. You won't have the time to safely eject a burning battery from your phone if it comes to that.

The only reason I'll want a removable battery is for ease of swapping a faulty battery out with a new one, hard reset of the phone (remove battery completely for a minute or so), and when the phone fell into water you can just remove the battery quickly and leave the phone overnight in dry rice, and hope for a successful recovery.

I don't care if it makes the phone slightly thicker.
