You say your seat belt is damaged? Get it checked, if its safety is compromised they must replace it

MyBB should write an article on this. This is dangerous, i'm sure SAMSUNG can investigate the cause and warn others. Is there a national consumer agency that certifies these devices for safety ? Is it ICASA?

+1

It'll give Samsung right of reply.

I leave my S6 in the car while at gym. Maybe I'll take it with from now on. Don't wanna come back to a pile of ash.

personal contract.
He has no right to contact your boss since it is a personal contract. For that you deserve an apology.

When I moaned about the treatment, (they made me feel as if I was trying to con them), he threatened me by saying he would speak to my bosses... Our office is in the same building in JHB...
It's definitively not Samsung policy to treat customer like that. That is not just underhanded that is a veiled threat.

When there is smoke their is fire so I suspect they are hushing up the S6 fires to protect their brand

Do you have any details on what battery was in your phone?

Don't deal with the local Samsung guys anymore since you already got a replacement. They will be in damage control mode and protecting the douche John Houston who tried underhanded tactics.
You could try media24 or even mybb to write an article
If I were you I would post on reddit. The photos of your finger included as well as the underhanded tactics. Maybe you get an international Samsung guy to join in and rain hell fire down on John Houston.

Hmmm... this is concerning. What container would be able to withstand the heat generated by something like this? Got a few phones at home that is now slowly becoming a fire hazard it seems.

If you are not using your phones...leave them in the refrigerator - preferably in the frozen section

This isn't a heat problem. This is air getting in where it shouldn't be.

Lithium + Oxygen = fireworks

Couple of observations:
who is holding the phone in post 1?
what was done with the phone once it was removed from said pocket?
the jeans should have been pretty badly burnt?

1. Cant answer.
2. Read OP:
tossed it onto the passenger seat and immediately the car was filled with smoke.
I jumped out, ran round the back to the passenger door, opened the door and in a brushing motion, brushed the phone from the seat onto the pavement.
3. Hey OP! Pics of jeans required to make BigAl-sa happy.

Looking at that phone, the seat should have been as badly damaged as the phone shown, yet only the seat belt was burnt?

Something bothers me about this thread.

So which specific seat belt was damaged?...
