SA online iPad deals compared

Even though the iPad 2 is expected out sometime this year, you may be itching to get your hands on the original. We round up the best deals
 
Prices are ridiculous compared to the US iStore.....16GB Wifi only works out to R3500 excl import duties
 
not much research done here, ipad 64gb 3g can be found online for around R8500
 
What a rip off. For R5k I could get a Lenovo tablet/laptop convertable that can actually run Windows or Linux, has a keyboard with tons of storage.

Nothing wrong with the iPad itself, but definately not that price. Even the Samsung android tablet that came out is far too expensive.
 
Buy it from Ebay yourself, and make sure the shipper uses UPS or Fedex shipping (not USPS).
 
Apple products are like most cars - never buy the first model out - wait for the next model!
 
PCint and Apple Cart sell iPads for far cheaper than those prices. Last I saw they were asking R7499 for the 64GB wifi-3G.

How much is shipping and import taxes (from US to SA) anyway?
 
I managed to pick up a brand new ipad 64gb wifi only for R5800(yes.....in SA), dam this thing is so awesome.

Some people find that to be a drawback rather than a selling point. My three year old can, and does, operate the thing. ;)

I thought so too but it turned out to be a huge influence in the way I do things.

It's a really easy device to dismiss until you've spent some time using one.

Still, those prices listed do seem rather inflated - black market greed I suppose.

Same, you just need to look around a bit and not buy through the official SA channels with their extortionist prices.
 
Don't you just love it how $499 changes into R6400 for the bottom of the range iPad... No wonder the grey market is flourishing.
