SA Post Office Strike

Is our post office working again? Want to order from US and they only offer regular shipping (no courier).

In all the time I've been ordering no issues. Suddenly when there's a postal strike and parcels piling up customs get their knickers in a knot. Coincidence? Think not.

SARS probably wants more Rs. So they check more intensively.

That would be bad enough. But the fact that the management and the government will ignore this is the worst. But that's to be expected.

If you pay with Paypal you have x days to file a claim. Without proof of delivery you should be refunded.

Great, so now I am informed that I won't be getting a refund as they don't issue refunds for international orders. Despite that I never even saw the package and have proof it was returned to them. I thought one of the reasons for using Paypal was a guarantee of delivery or your money back. If they don't want to do that they should not be using Paypal. Can a shop just override the Paypal terms & conditions with their own?

File a claim with Paypal. No, I don't think they can. You could also file a claim with your credit card issuer. You could say you paid, yet have not taken delivery of the article. But start with PayPal. The latter option may jeoparise your relationship with Paypal. Both options may cause that merchant to no longer ship to SA in the future or only offer courier here.

I think a debit card chargeback will be a bit difficult. Will try the Paypal route if I don't succeed. I just asked for the money back of the products as the issue wasn't their fault and they probably sold the products already. Perhaps a veiled threat of Paypal reimbursing postage as well will convince them otherwise.

Either way I don't think they'll be shipping here again as they now think their products are illegal here.

I have used the paypal claim service successfully many times as long as you give enough info so they believe your story and not the seller.

If you buy on eBay you will find seller are most willing to refund or resend. 95% of the times I have enquired I was offered that and declined as the first parcel shows up a week or so later thanks to our wonderful postal service. I was once given a refund and when the item actually arrived I paid the seller again on Paypal. I really do not want to annoy these seller as I find it very frustrating when someone will not ship to SA.

This irritates the cr@p out of me.
I bought a pebble steel watch when the dollar was still relevant low.

Now the idiots stole me contents in my packaging.
So it will cost me almost 70% more now to get a replacement if the Post office actually refund my money that I bought it for.
They can actually see that between customs and the Post office it got stolen, so I still have high hopes that they will refund my money.

The issue now is that pebble released a new version hat will cost another $100 extra, so if I want to replace the watch I will have to pay another extra $100 plus what ever the exchange rate is now and will have to courier it probably to the UK or somewhere else to pick it up and bring it them personally.

So we can add another X amount to that.

You know it just urks me, I have saved my own money to buy something for myself and it takes one idiot to steal it, now it will cost me more to replace it, dont know if I even want to anymore.

So in short we are not allowed to have anything nice otherwise some one will steal it.
Its a bunch of criminals that works for our Post office.

Do they have x-ray scanners or are the contents listed?
