SA telecoms ads poking fun at the competition

MTN's claims that they provide better value for money than Cell C's 99c deals still amaze me. Sadly for MTN that would only be true if the moon was always in the same phase, while the wind was blowing at just the right direction & speed, and a cock kept crowing constantly. Or something like that...

I get nauseous every time I hear that Telkom "on hold" music

I still want a copy of the ad Vodacom showed at last year's MyBB conference
We asked, but Vodacom seems a bit scared to let it out. It is unfortunate because they are the only company which seems scared to really take on the competition.

Of course this is happening. Cell C is the main target, the other company's are working off, If you can't beat em, lie.

It was brilliant though.

Ponders what they have in store for us this year...

Vodacom holds the bulk of market share, so most probably they do not see any advantage in poking fun at their competition, YET !

These ads are brilliant and only prompt a response from those brave enough to respond!

Telecoms in SA is no laughing matter. They just want to make us cash cows complacent by throwing us a humorous bone. Anyway it is rather sad that the only people they can make fun of is themselves, because compared to the rest of the world they are all laughing stock.

The first advert of this sort that I learnt of was the Chapman's Peak BMW beats the bends ad (Link: http://bit.ly/O4JnfX).

I think I have got a nice set of ads to start my collection of competitive advertising ads.

Thanks MyBB.

ABSOLUTELY, that was too win. I had to watch it a few times.

I cannot stop laughing. Everyone who has had to deal with telkom knows what listening to that music does to you. I had a bit of a flashback when I just heard it....

Fully agree, nauseous and angry. But at least the TV ad makes me smile a bit again Took me really hours over months of hanging on that 10210 customer chase away line to finally cancel my fixed line. And then they told me end of July that it still takes 5-7 working days for the cancellation to take place, so they are still going to charge me the August rental. Proudly now communicating without the Big Ones, Telkom, Vodacom and MTN.
