I think the XDA app is a thin version of Tapatalk? I remember trying it - along with the MyBroadband app - and not seeing any difference to Tapatalk except limited to that specific forum.
I think the aim of the specific apps may just be a means to raise cash for the forum - which is a good thing.

Thx I appreciate the advice!

OK so I went back to Cyanogen, stupidly I didn't install the Google apps download pack from b4. I am loving Cyanogen! A few kinks to still iron out, but I am sure it will. If anybody has flashed Cyanogen and wants to ask me something (not that I am an expert at all) I will try to help. Or at least I'll know who I can ask to help.

So very salient stuff I like about Cyanogen:

Navigating around seems very fast! Don't know how quadrant scores compare, yet.
I can increase the no of apps in my dock to 5
Also increase the no of apps showing in my home screen to how I want it.
I like the into sleep mode animation, like a crt television tube shutting down
The lock screen is very customusavle, and pretty.
Very nb - you know when you press the home button to immediately go to your first home screen? Do you hate the 1 second lag? None here!

Some stuff I dislike too, maybe just kinks too iron, but don't wanna take up too much space in the forum...

thinking of trying out CM7.1, where did you download the ROM, it gets kinda confusing on XDA and even on teh CM site itself...am currently on stock 2.3.5. Did you do it via ODIN

Here we go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297557
You can also do it via Rom Manager. Make sure you follow the instructions. Too many guys having problems and mainly due to instructions not been followed correctly. I have flashed it twice now and both times it went 100%.

Read the link posted by Mike and then definitely this one too:

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176411

This one lays it out very neatly, and describes any fixes that might be necessary. Makes you geel at ease! This is what convinced me to give it another try.

Very nb (and as prescribed in the link I above), is that when you flash this (via CWM), obviously first wipe data, cache and dalvik cache, flash Cyanogen for the first time, and then immediately flash it for a second time again, without rebooting. Don't have to wipe data, cache and dalvik for second time.

I did this wrong the first time and was stuck at the bootlogo, but fortunately you can reboot back into CWM

Sorry for only replying now..

Mike, do you use ROM Manager premium? If so, do you find it useful to?

Not that much anymore dude. I use the CWM app or boot directly into CWM.
I use ROM Manager when on the CM7 ROM to flash the nightlies. That is about it though.

A friend notified me that if I intend to flash the rom I'll need to get a jig to reset the counter for warranty protection. Can you confirm that?

Most incoming calls go straight to voicemail :<

I think i should post this in a separate thread but since it affects my S2 i'll put it up here first.

Most of my incoming calls go straight to voicemail, even though the phone is on. I can make calls, send and receive sms's, and the data network works fine, but most of my incoming voice calls go straight to voicemail. I only started noticing this when i activated the missed call notification on MTN. However i did have a few complaints before that but put it down as a network problem.

A couple of friends with the Galaxy S also have this problem, and they're on different networks in different parts of the city.

I'm trying to figure out if any recent apps have caused this but google doesn't help. Currently going through and uninstalling any recent apps i don't use.

Additional Info:
Happens more often while i'm on wifi.
My network mode is permanently on GSM.
The only app that constantly runs is whatsapp, but i've had this installed ever since i got my phone.
Stock 2.3.3 rom (not rooted).
No email accounts syncing.
No anti-virus.

Has anyone else had this issue?
