Yip, I can see, use - read/write, to it, no problems
My locations is as follows:

Internal SD --> /storage/sdcard0
External SD --> /storage/sdcard1
USB Stick --> /storage/usbdisk0

Hope the above helps.

Thanks
Do you have apps mapping the drive?

Yeh, got Profimail, K-9 Mail, ftp server app, gallery... All mapped to different locations on the ext. sd...

We are trying to map the emmc or extSdCard to external_sd so that he can access the external sd card from file explorer

searching through xda, and found this, creds goes to lbsonic from xda ofcourse :) :

Fix for who want to use the folder "external_sd" in the internal storage of the mobile phone again instead of folder EMMC in the root of your device to acces your external sd card.

download Terminal Emulator from google play..
(press enter after each line):

-------------

su (enter)
mount -o bind /emmc /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ (enter)

-------------

caution ! you need to put space after these sentences

mount
-o
bind
/emmc
/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/

your external Sd card is now linked in a folder in your internal storage of your device again under external_sd
(quick workaround)

[EDIT]:
have a look here as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734826
[/EDIT] ;)

give that a go...

I'm on Gingerbread and I want to update firmware using Kies, will my apps still be intact after the upgrade? I have performed a full backup with Kies.

you should be ok, Kies does not (to my knowledge) delete user data and apps. Besides, you have done a backup so you can always restore. But you should be fine

Mate of mine on RR3.0.2 and Siyah 4.0.1 can't see his external sd card. We tried directory bind (works fine on my phone with same rom and kernel). Directory bind used to work well on previous versions of RR and Siyah when the external sd was mapped to emmc. Now that it is mapped to extSdCard, we can't get it to load.

Can you see the external sd in your file explorer?

Can't he use another file explorer like ES?

I had this same issue..all you need to do is use Titanium backup to freeze Romcontrol and the Update Me app, they are the cause of wakelocks in RR 3.0.2. I did and I have no more severe battery drain or wakelocks

Thanks kfler
Discovered that fix today in RR 3.0.2 FAQ.Now I see RR 3.0.3 has been released.Will install it over the weekend or on Monday.Tend to notice when you download as soon as it is released most the links end in a download that just abruptly stops,whenever.Will enjoy 3.0.2 for a day or two more.
Thanks for the help though guys.Much appreciated.

Ive noticed this on a few roms but then after a reboot the apns appear normally.

rebooted... nope, still no APN's and can't add them either, not to worry I'll come back to JB when it's a little more sorted, I hate incomplete stuff

He does. But he (like me) dont want to go one directory back all the time in order to access the sd card. It is all running fine on my phone, but for sone reason we can't get it sorted on his

I see. Makes sense. Was why I changed MIUI ROM's. Did binding the directories not work?

Anybody using cm10 as a daily driver? I`m downloading it now. Was wondering how buggy it is

I am using it at the moment. Perfectly good for daily use. Battery drain is a bit more, coming from the latest Neatrom 4.03. But I like it and wont be going back
