Has anyone done some testing regarding the dorimanx and siyah kernel wrt battery life? I'm currently on RR3.05 with siyah 4.1.2 using 'battery' profile but if dorimanx is better wrt battery then I'll switch.

btw is dorimanx compatible with RR?

I was on siyah4.1.2 and moved to dorimanx in hope of better battery life. And I have not been disappointed. I also run rr 3.0.5 and it works perfectly.

The dorimanx kernel is even more customizable than siyah and has a few tricks of its own, like a "deep sleep" specific cpu governor. Most extra options are there to save battery without sacrificing performance. I get about an hour more screen on battery time from dorimanx than siyah. And its stable.

Im happy so far.

I'm also on RR 3.05. I'm also interested in saving battery life. Would you mind sharing what settings changes you made? I think its about time I foray into those uncertain waters....broaden my horizons 'n all...

At the moment I am on stock dorimanx settings, but will test new settings after this battery cycle.

Look at the last 3 pages on this post for dorimanx settings. (For future ref, last page is 470)

Charged my phone last night and unpluged it at 24h00, and battery was at 96% at 7am. Used the gps to get to a RC racing track(20min) and took more than 100 pics there of my brother's car. Also searched the web for a couple of mins. 3G on the whole time(except at night, then I limited it to 2G) and wifi for 2-3hours.

14 hours on, 2h05 mins screen time and 54% left.

Dorimanx 5.73 kernel
CPU gov: lulzactiveq
Sleep gov: sleepy
Smooth scaling 800
IO:Noop

otherwise stock settings. Not bad for a fist cycle.

Edit: I know that 5.73 is supposed to be an experimental kernel but I ignored it a bit. The phone froze twice in sleep, not waking up (aka SOD, or "sleep of death". Hard to say if it's the kernel or my changed settings. I will revert to stock settings on next cycle to see if its fixed.

Has anyone tried the latest dorimanx kernel with cyanogen 9.1?

Whenever I install the kernel I keep getting an error that the phone process has stopped and all I can do is switch the phone off or reboot.

Yip. Get into recovery by holding down volume up+home+power and manually wipe dalvik + cache. Will sort it for you. Apparently its only happening to some.

Try ondemand gov for deep sleep. Phone has only frozen once on lock screen.

Just checked. Lost 1% over 7 1/2 hours last night. Wifi off.

Wow, a lot of people seem sold on the Dorimanx kernel...

I like its customization, battery life just how enthusiastic he is about creating a really great kernel. Yes he uses other sources but isn't that the open source way:) He does credit all his sources.
