Try the following:
Menu
Settings
More... (option below Data usage)
Mobile networks
Access point names
Wap.Vodacom (you are on MTN, so pick the equivalent)
IMPORTANT: Write down proxy
Delete proxy
Exit .....

Go to Play store and try a download

EDIT: Also check if the internet still works (it should)
If this does not work, then you can re-enter the proxy

Hi there guys,

Any of you experience the following with Whatsapp:

"This version of Whatsapp is too old and no longer functions"
And it takes me to the download link, where I have re-downloaded the latest version, but the same happens...
Also got the latest apk file from the net, but error still persists....

Was working fine till last night, received a msg (normal text msg from a known contact ), and after that boom - ^ error...

I'm just beginning to see how terrible my stock ICS install was. My audio (through headphones) even sounds much better now that I'm using JB ROM.
 
You won't disappointed. I lost 1% of battery in 7hours last night with 98% deep sleep. Very happy.

Maybe try clearing the data and cache for the app? (Settings -> Apps -> Whatsapp)

Yes, with even more adjustability than siyah, but leave te cpu and gpu settings stock for a day or two and you will be amazed. DorimanX has set up the Hyper gov to be very responsive and it is very quick and suprisingly battery friendly. The steps have also been undervolted individualy without sacrificing any stability. You can obviously play with BLN etc.

Will give this kernel a chance, flashing 5.7.6b. Will report on how it goes.

I got this on RLbenchmark with the Dorimanx kernel on performance profile. No oc. Can someone post results of siyah just for intrest sake.
