Interesting quote from XDA
Just a warning to others here we had a guy on RR thread constantly winging about the rom and having freezes and crashes.

Turns out after probing him for more answers he admitted that he had been overclocking cpu to 1600 and now thinks he has damaged his hardware.

I asked him to be sure to test his phone on a stable rom that he had no issues with in the past and yes he did still have issues. So please guys try not to overclock past 1400 if possible so u don't damage ur hardware. It's better to be safe then sorry.

This could explain why some people have a lot more issues then others and are wrongly blaming roms and kernels for this when in fact they have damaged thier hardware.

Hey, what ROM are you using? Because that doesn't sound normal...sounds like you having RIL (Radio Interface Layer) crashes. It seems to be spoken about quite often on XDA in the CM10 thread a while back. It seems some phones are sensitive to something. Have you tried also matching the RIL and baseband using GetRIL?

PS +1 on LPS being a great radio.
Im using Thebyani Rom version 4.5. It's a 4.0.3 Rom. Im gonna try LPS in the meantime

When I receive a picture from someone, it reads "Download" in the message center. When I click on it, it changes to "Downloading", then goes to "Download" after a while. Where do I view this picture?

You should be able to click on it to view it, otherwise check the gallery, if its not there then it didn't download

Don't think I've ever recieved MMS messages but on whatsapp you need to click download and once that is done you can view it, it also gets added to the gallery automatically as it's a picture, I assume MMS works the same. maybe try request MMS settings from your provider?

I have a weird issue which started after i updated Ivona text-to-speech a few months ago. Whenever i open the task manager and force exit an app or exit all apps, the Ivona text-to-speech app appears in the task manager list for a seconds then disappears.
Anyone else have this issue?

I'm on 4.0.3 with the latest Siyah Kernel.

Oooh and I also found this: Alliance ICS ROM, the video demo looks fantastic :p

Their ROMS are awesome. My S2 is currently running the latest version. They were also the first to port the ripple lock screen ;-).

Side note, if anyone is using vk roms just be advised that the "dev" is using the hard work done by the Alliance team. He has not asked for permission and was actually banned from XDA due to this.

I have Maps running in the background all the time and it is killing my battery, anyone know how to solve this

Wow, without the obvious switch maps off, I'd imagine you would need to get the bigger battery that's available. The GPS is going to drain the thing double quick. Latitude also apparently is a killer if you're using that.

What sort of time do you get from a charge btw? Is it necessary to have it on all of the time?

My GPS is off. I have to force close my Maps but it just keeps re opening in the background. "google services" is eating my battery alive.
