Anyone recommend some ROMS for me? Currently using RR 3.0.8 (been using RR for months now) and I'm totally over it. Tried to take a quick pic of something yesterday and ~40seconds later my camera was still not responding. Also, last night the phone rotted to a stall and got so damn warm I had to reboot it several times before it behaved normal again. Bah
 
I recommend latest CM10 nightly. I used to use RR up 3.0.6 but also got sick of those type of instability issues. Great ROM otherwise.

I find CM10 nightlies to be more stable and solid.

I installed the preview when it came out but decided to wait a few weeks until it was a bit more stable before changing from CM9.1.

Maybe now is the time because I've got itchy fingers and even though I love the stability and smoothness of 9.1, I haven't flashed anything for a few weeks :whistle:
 
I tried yesterdays CM10 nightly, was working very nice except for the camera crashing once or twice. Reverted back to RR3.0.9 just to test something and decided to stay ^_^ going to try the latest Paranoid ROM now with the mali stuff. Lots of people like it. And the setting and gmail tablet interface is pretty sweet for me.
 
Well I've flashed the Alliance ROM someone posted earlier here. Love it so far, even though it's ICS. Will see how it goes for a few days.

But the latest nightlies have the latest mali driver included, right?

I am on SuperNexus and i love the rom
 
The Paranoid ROM and Dorimanx 7 combo is a fail, I cant connect it to my wifi. These mali things need more time i'd say.
 
Someone posted that, these updated drivers stop the memory leaks, and brings the JB ROMS much closer to project butterness. If I may say it like that :p

Jeally bean 4.1.2 is available with all the mali goodies and whatnot. Now someone just needs to get the kernels right.

So ... who has tried LTE on Vodacom? The S2 is not listed on Vodacom's approved devices, but someone in a LTE area must test this please. You need a 64K or 128K sim and need to call 082 155 to activate LTE on your account/number.
 
I'm pretty sure the LTE version of the S2 wasn't released in SA, that's why its not on Vodadom's approved devices.

You know why I love MIUI, the experience is fun. CM9, CM10, RR, all of them have the same look, same feel. Gets boring.Screenshot_2012-10-11-10-04-57.jpg

I like that, its fun.
 
Wow, that is really pretty. But do all MIUI icons have the Apple-esque look to it?

Do you need to download extra stuff to make MIUI look that good? Does it take a bit of effort?

The latest CM10 nightlies are really smooth, equally so over a period of usage! Really impressed! it took a really discernable jump in performance.
