Hey guys, I'm trying out RR 3.0.9 - hope that its good. Anyway just wanted to find out whether anyone has experience with modems for it? I'm using 1 of the defaults LPX - just checking if there is any one who possibly knows if there are better ones for our local experience.
 
just a lil heads up:
gokhanmoral, the developer of siyah is going to make one last update this weekend and then he is gona sell his S2 .He has asked for feature requests

i think the stock SA firmware comes with a LPS modem
 
I am on RR 2.7 and like an idiot when I was flashing, I chose Experia Laucher.

Anyone know how to change this to Apex or something?

Install Apex from the play store, and uninstall/remove Experia launcher.
Then when you press your home button it should ask you if you want to complete the action using TW launcher or Apex --> select Apex as the default and "Bob's you Uncle"! :)

Freeze any other launcher besides Apex in Titanium Backup. It will remove all those annoying "complete action with" dialogue boxes that happen. (before you do this, even is you say 'always use Apex', the box will still pop up when you use the home button from a different area...

Maybe I am just being a dummy right now, but I the 'swipe left or right for message or phone' does not work for me...? I can't find a setting to change this either.

But it doesn't matter to me if I can't get it right - still much better than anything else I've tried.

Yeah, it only works for me on my dialer screen with the log of previous calls/callers 'behind' the keypad. Doesn't work for me either in my contacts list screen.

Really? Maybe that is with CM10.
I'm on Wanamlite and only had to set the default once..never seen the screen pop up again.

On Wanamlite this swipe left/right works by default from contacts as well as logs. :)
Just saying :p

Might be CM10 - cMIUI has the same problem.

That's TouchWiz for you. I suppose it has a few good points. ;)

exDialer and it's companion exContacts (installed with exDialer) does a great job of almost emulating that functionality. It's a great app in its own right, though. Installed it and loving it so far.

Nooooo!!
Oh well, I've actually been using cm10 without siyah for a few weeks since the two aren't compatible at the moment.
 
I am running rootbox 2.9 with dori 7.3 and have to say, it is by far the best and smoothest setup I have run on this phone! And battery is very good! I am running the performance profile and overclocked to 1.5ghz and I still get 3 hours on screen and 20h battery. Love it.

And I think it is sad to loose GM but dori is much more committed anyway, and very knowledgeable in any case, the only reason why he doesn't differ more from siyah is because GM doesn't want to release some of his source code, but this might change with the last siyah release, so dori can work his magic even more...

The combination with Nova also makes this the best ever(supposedly Nova even uses less power than Apex), I cant see Samsung improving on this with an official release.

Also, BeWeather app on the 1st play store page is nifty, it uses your Beautifull Widgets themes and is much more neat (location of texts etc) and the app's weather animations are amazing!

5-step GPU and new GPU steps (may not work on some devices though, so this should be optional or there will be two versions)
some changes from s3 such as making mdnie sharpness tweaks optional

remove accelerometer hack if it is not used in CM anymore as it may drain battery
touch sensitivity changes (any suggestion?)

Go test Rootbox nightlies + dorimanx 7.4!!! I don't know how this is possible, but the new dori kernel is as smooth in default mode as 7.3 was in performance! Performance was OC to 1.4!!! Crazy!

I think this is JB perfection
 
What is this voodoo? Give me a link to these nightlies you talk of please? ^^
