Any feedback on the latest Dorimanx kernel?
Every one that i've used occasionally caused my phone to freeze, and the latest stable Siyah (4.1.5) occasionally loses signal :(

Which ROM you using? Have you UV'd your kernel? I've been using 7.4 with CM10 and it fly's. Im not going to get into battery comparissons.
 
I am using dori 7.4 at the moment and it is by far the smoothest my phone has ever been, and no SOD's. Just use the default or performance profile. Have not experienced one problem on 7.4, but I can't comment on 5.90(old mali driver for old roms)

With that being said, I would reccomend waiting a few days till jb build 5 is used in RootBox rom, and till dori ports dual boot and other things from siyah.
Rootbox should be done by tomorrow, but dori might wait a few days to check stability is siyah.

But dori 7.4 is pitch perfect to me.
 
My wifi is slow as #$@! with Dorimanx 7.4. Thats the only issue, the rest is just amazing.

Anyone know where to tune the kernel to fix the wifi issue? :-)
 
@carrot, Dori said it has to do with the cortex-brain, when the screen is on/when the charger is plugged in it would have normal speed, but in sleep mode the speed drops quite a lot.

You can do a few things, go to dev options and keep screen on during a large DL, or plug the phone into the charger, or disable Coretex-brain in ExTweaks when you want fast DL speed all the time.

I believe also that quite a few people have requested an on/off switch for the slow WiFi in the next release or when he can get around to it. We will have to wait and see.
 
I'm using rr 3.0.9 with a Mali patch and dorimanx 7.3, seems to be reasonably good.

Tried flashing 3.0.9 over 3.0.8 without a wipe, but my modem wouldn't even work, even after re flashing. So had to wipe, haven't set everything up properly yet. But seems pretty smooth. Battery life seems good. Having fc's of maps, not sure why yet.

I see a lot of guys using rootbox? Have you found it to be more stable than rr?

Yes, I was using rr3.0.9 without mali patches before rootbox, and since rootbox it has been much more stable, but that might have been the mem leak that made mine unstable so I can't be certain. Rootbox is very similar to rr and I am sure you would like it if you like rr. Try it. But wait for 3.0, it should be out soon.

Also, use more updated gapps than what rr use, it might solve your FC problem.

Also, rootbox does not come with gapps installed, so you have to download it from the OP of rootbox separately.
 
What boggles me is the difference in size between ResurrectionRemix and other ROMS (for example Rootbox). Anyone have an idea? I know RR comes with aroma and thus a few extra installer options but surely the apps cannot be that big?

it has a few kernels and modems as well thats about 50 mb
 
Tks for the reply. Yeah I think I'm gonna give JB in general a break for now, I don't have time to deal with these bugs and stuff. Will wait until after Samsung has released the official JB update and then see which ROM ill go for.

Gone back to cm 9.1 stable with dorimanx 5.89, and wow the difference is substantial, a lot smoother and less buggy. JB has some cool things, like Google Now, but to be honest I don't really even use those things, having location services running chews up my battery.

Think I'm quite content with stable ICS rom for now, just want full functionality.

Though I must say, IMO, the latest CM10 nightlies are 99.95% stable to me. I also prize stability above most other factors.

too bad the RR site is down. Guess everyone is downloading the new ROM. Been waiting for a new ROM for a while now.
 
Rootbox 3.0 or Resurrection Remix 3.10? And why? :-) Both are based on AOKP 5, but as far as i can see Bajee (rootbox) is a little bit more involved/experienced in AOKP?
