It has been nearly a month and I haven't even rooted my phone yet.

The default 4.0.3 is everything I need and later in November 4.1.x will be released for the S2, so there is no need for me to flash a rom on this beaut of a phone at this stage. The only downside is, of course, poor Linux support, but I'm used to that.

My tablet is also gathering dust, this phone has now become my default everything and I no longer need my tablet as before.

I urge you to root with SuperSU (so you can disable root when you want to) and install jKay mod for Samsung firmware.
You will tell me later how this mod makes your phone so much more efficient to use.

For eg.
Double tap home button to activate any app. (launches the camera in my case)
Hold home button on lock screen to activate flash. used this so many times it's priceless IMO.
Customizable shortcuts to toggles AND applications in the notification bar.
and many many other features that round my phone off perfectly.

Here's how mine looks, again you can change yours to your liking. And since you running stock samsung theme your won't have the dark ICS look to it.

JKay Deluxe framework v14.1 contains the following default features
* added the 'Remove all' button to Recent app list view
* added support for screen rotation lock (when auto-rotation quick toggle is off)
* replaced the holo background with hires version
* removed accuweather lock screen icon
* fixed $1 $2 in all plurals.xml !
* fixed Skip track (handles volume twice!)

+1 Been using it since the day I rooted back in the GB 2.3.4 days.
It's part of the reason I stick to Samsung based ROMs. AOSP/AOKP doesn't offer you the same in a single easy to use non-buggy package.

Kernel 7.5 ICS+JB MALI! Uploaded!

This kernel HAS DUAL BOOT

You can do:
JB-MALI as main ROM / ICS as Second ROM
and reverse!

This kernel NOT supporting VSYNC JB ROMS!
This kernel NOT supporting OLD JB ROMS!

This is BETA! some new things not finish yet, and i need to merge some more code updates for mali driver for ICS.
But it's working fine and stable.

So install use and keep a working 100% kernel close
in case of some problems

New boot scree. Nice purple Dorimanx screen.

So far no issues great battery life, very smooth.

RR 3.1.1 out.

I must say that there has been a huge improvement since I moved from 3.0.9 to 3.1.0, phone is not slowing down, battery is lasting a lot longer and everything is just a lot smoother.

*Added SLEEP I/O Scheduler choose mod in extweaks, see MISC tab!
default is NOOP, and it's was all the time.
*Patched 2 MALI drivers with CM-TEAM updates + code style fixing.
*Tuned Kernel optimization tweaks.
*Removed some Debug Logs.
*Code changes for touchscreen + battery drivers.
*GPU freq/voltage/steps% updated + some tuning changes.

Kernel performance and battery save restored to Normal.

Need to keep testing and reporting

hi all,

some help if possible please :)

so I take my stock s2 , load unsecured kernel, and root it

then I load cwm and rr Rom

all goes well until after the rr Rom install, it just hangs there :( any suggestions

Go into CMW, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot.
