At risk of sounding like a noob, could someone please explain the steps to installing this MOD: [THEME]Water Ripple effects, Smart Rotation for XXLSJ firmware

His steps are:
just extract ripple.zip, throw SecSettings.odex into /preload/symlink/system/app with permission 644,
and push android.policy.odex into /system/framework, with permission 644 as well.

But I have no idea where those folders are...

Thanks I tried it a second time with the whole cleardalviccachefixpermisions routine and it's working now :-)

Eish, is it just me or is battery life lacking in this stock ROM? I've dissabled googleNOW, sighned out of gtalk, dissabled motion and smartstay, put it on GSM only and I'm connected to WIFI. Still, battery is going down too fast for my liking.... Come on GM...

Also, for those who haven't flashed yet, look at this guys "SLIM" stock ROM

I saw people said that there are two dominant wakelocks in this leak, one is maps location(usual suspect) but an even bigger one, the Samsung push app. Go to settings/app manager/Samsung push service and disable it. I have not found any ill effects from disabling it. Try it, it might help.

OK anyone not being able to connect to Mobile Data, Android Version 4.0.4 or higher will not connect on any sim card lower than 64k.
Very impressed to get a knowledgeable person on the MTN helpline.

Maybe just on the MTN network. I've got a 32k Vodacom sim in my Note 2 running HSDPA+.

But thanks for the info, the wife is on MTN with her S2. But she's got a fairly new sim, so I'll just double-check it before updating to JB

Do you know how the battery life is?

It should be the same as the leaked ROM, which has been good for me, but others have complained. Maybe a bit better since it is debloated. I get about 16 hours and 3hours screen time with about 1hour of music on the leaked rom, not bad for me.

Lol, lies i used an old (read: OLD) red cellc 16k sim in my s2 running cm10 (4.1.1) for months and no problems with h+.

I'm still getting blown away how awesome RR 3.1.2 is.

I'm keen on trying the new leaks, but my phone is running so smoothly I'm really not too bothered.

Now Google must just fix Chrome for Android. It's an abomination and so very bad compared to the stock browser.

I recon I'll give RR 3.1.3 a go again when it comes, sounds like Bajee (rootbox) is a bit too preoccupied atm. Not that Rootbox had any issues mind you. But I want Butter

On that note, the source code still isn't available for this leaked ROM, is it? Meaning, is this leak usable to custom developers?
