my 15 month old daughter thought it would be funny to dunk my s3 into a water fountain , like one would dunk a Rusk .....:eek:

after immediately taking off the battery, and shaking off excess water, i cut open a packet of tactic, pushed the phone into the rice, and left it for a day or 2.


its now 3 months or so since the incident , and it still smooth sailing

Let me guess....you were fiddling with your S2 on the throne and it fell in between your legs?

Sorry to hear that! Especially the fact that the new Jelly Bean ROM makes the S2 more desirable than ever!

*Getting difficult to get hold of a new black one now. I am looking for a brand new sealed black S2, but not easy to find.
 
I installed the 4.1.2 JB rom on my S2. Now i get these damned annoying prompts when i scroll through the pages. "page one of four, page two of four" etc. It is SO ANNOYING. Anyone know where i can rid my phone of this?

That's odd ... I don't have that problem at all. Check under Settings - Developer options. It's the only place I can think of where such a setting could exist. Where did you get the rom? Is it the official leaked version?

Yeah the official leaked one. The only way to stop it is to mute the phone. I disabled developer, didnt help arggggghhhh

It could be driving mode. Disable that, and disable talkback under accessibility.

I must say the phone has a new lease on life, the new rom and a new extended battery and i plug it in at night with more than 50% left. Generally i had to charge right when i got home. Love it!
 
Well ... those of us experimenting with the leaked JB rom already know what a great change JB is compared to ICS or GB. I learn something new everyday and I guess that's why people like kingrob and myself struggle to put the phone down since loading JB. It is truly amazing to see the new features although some really chows battery ...

So I am sitting on site, sharing a cubicle with a colleague and he has an iPhone (my deepest apologies for using the i***** word in a proper thread, but bear with me). Now he does not know anything about Android since he chose between a BlackBerry (same apology) and the i***** when he was in Canada (the sales person only pimped these phones and not Android for some reason - couldn't bother to ask). And then he saw me "playing" with my phone. I noticed and started showing him a few stuff that makes JB stand out from ICS (not that he would know coz' he doesn't know Android). I showed him the floating video player, the new gallary interfaces, auto dialling by bringing the phone to your ear from a text message, multi window and some motions. I wish you guys could see the look on his face - it's like that nice surprise you get when feeling a real tit form a real girl the first time. His first response wwas "Why do you make me fall in love with this phone?" ... and I guess that settles that! S2 FTW!!
 
One real annoying bug I get with 4.1.2 (Omega) is with the Lockscreen, where I have to lock it over again to unlock it. Anyone else get this?

It happens sometimes. Are you using the mod from ICS_XD?

Exactly. The new Jelly Bean ROM makes you feel you've got a S3 instantly. The Touchwiz Nature UX launcher is simply beautiful & the best launcher I've used on a phone, even better than HTC. Yes, I said it. :)

The improved phone part is my personal favorite, it just looks stunning.... just a schlep to have to reload all my contacts' pictures.

I'm worried that Samsung might delay the official S2 Jelly Bean ROM, as they will get no sales with the S3 mini. :p

I'll say it again....S2 FTW!!!

It's still the phone with the best Super AMOLED + display ever produced by Samsung & Jelly Bean looks stunning on it.

Now I want one more brand new black S2 with an extended battery kit. That's how I roll. :)

kingrob - you make me larf ... what are you going to do with another S2? You want one for each hand? :D
 
There is a guy who found the problem for the lockscreen freeze, Goldie something, at XDA at S2 android development, I will post the link when I am at my pc, but go check it out.
