Just an update on the bloddy annoying page 1 of 2 etc crap i hear when flipping through the screen. I disabled this and it didnt help. I then also disabled "all sounds" under the accessibility section. That worked, but it turns out that disables sound from the phone completely, except during calls.

Am i the only person with this annyoing issue, i cant find it on google either

Does this occur when you use your browser...? It worked for me.

Which ROM are you using?

Yep definitely this text to speech rubbish. I removed it with a root application uninstaller. Well done Samsung

I'm having a strange phenomenon with my phone (running rr 3.12 and dorimanx 7.22). The clock just stops sometimes :/ basically like a normal clock running out of batteries, and then my alarms don't work. Also my whatsapp is only giving me some messages, and then when I reboot my phone a whole lot of msgs from the last day come in?

Anyone experienced this? Hoping just a kernel flash may fix it

Busy testing RootBox 4.2.1 - wow rom is so smooth

Still some small bugs but going to be awesome once finished...

Have you flashed the settings fix for 3.1.2? Might help...

It's things like this that put me off of Samsung ROM's...

I am not defending Sammy ROMs, but every ROM has it's issues. Name them - RB, CM, RR, NR, WL, PA, etc. The way development works these days is to produce something because the masses wants it and then wait for the masses to come back with bug reports so it can be fixed. RR and CM develops as time goes by - they bring out nightlys and often these are ridden with bugs. Then someone comes up with a bugfix and you have to flash it in order to get a stable feature. This fix gets implemented and released i na later version, but in the meanwhile you are stuck with the problem.

When you say "things like this", you must remember that there is no official JB rom out yet. It is a leaked rom. Leaked roms are prone to issues and the risk to the end user is higher than when official roms/fw is released by Samsung (similar to nightlys). The difference is that CM, RR and the rest don't care for bugs, because it is all still under development and the bugs will be sorted out in due course. I love these roms, but then just when they perected the GB version, ICS is introduced. Then Development on ICS starts and just when that is perfected, JB comes out and so the cycle continues.

But when Samsung officially releases a rom/fw, there are little to no bugs. I remember the ICS leaked rom/fw LPB (correct me if I am wrong). The rom was so buggy, I uninstalled it faster than the installation. I could not live with the crap that was leaked. The subsequent roms/fw was almost bug free compared to the leaked version.

In the same vein, you should be put off by most custom roms out there. I am not attacking you, I just thing that your preference is with another developer because they try to implement features that Sammy roms never included before. I loved RR and CM, but there were small niggly things that kept me from using it as daily drivers for long periods. I always reverted to stock because of small things that were not implemented in the custom roms at the time. Now with JB, Samsung has taken so much from CM, RR and the like while still keeping the features that kept me using official fw. I doubt I will flash another custom rom as a daily driver if the official releases are going to be the same as the leaked version (but with bug fixes).

ICS was okish, but I had to install Nova Launcher to give my phone some speed.

I've never been so happy with a Samsung official ROM, than with the Jelly Bean Test ROM.

It's everything I could ever want from my phone, and the few niggles I can live with.

Still wondering if Samsung is not gonna hold back with the official release until Jan 2013, cos it will hurt Galaxy S3 mini sales.

Just pulled the trigger on the official Samsung extended 2000mAh battery. Got it from kalahari.com for R289.

Think I will need the extra juice when Jelly Bean officially arrives for the S2, cos I just can't leave my phone alone. :D

The one bonus about Jelly Bean though is that I find my battery is lasting even longer since I updated to it (using S3 though, not S2). So with your extended battery plus JB you should get a lot more mileage...
