Samsung Galaxy S2

The one bonus about Jelly Bean though is that I find my battery is lasting even longer since I updated to it (using S3 though, not S2). So with your extended battery plus JB you should get a lot more mileage...

Not really. I barely manage one day, but might be the fact that I simply cannot put the phone down. :)

And it's still a new battery, will give it at least a few weeks.

But the extended battery's cover makes my S2 feel premium when you hold it in your hand. I agree with Raithlin, it should have been the standard, but Samsung wanted the crown for the thinnest smartphone.

It's things like this that put me off of Samsung ROM's...

Maybe try Neat ROM lite. It is very pure Samsung, just with all bloatware removed. I had to flash one fix (a home button fix, that was reacting too quickly as if double tapping), but otherwise this phone has never been this perfect.

I also use Apex launcher.

I have never been this impressed with the S2! Like KingRob, I am such a happy camper right now.

Do you have the link for the lag fix? :) I'm itching to try NeatROM.

Sorry I did not bookmark it!

In that xda neatrom thread, search 'home button fix' and it should come up. Sorry I can't be of quicker help. (I'm on my phone)

But check first if you have an issue; it does seem to affect only a few users.

YES!!!!

Got a new S2 on a MTN 100 for R189/month from Tyger Valley - last stock.

Noble black, loaded with Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 .... :)

Now I'm happy like a pig in mud. :D

Don't forget to get Poweramp music player. You will thank me :-).

The Samsung Jelly Bean music player is fantastic + I use music widget.

Have you tried Poweramp within the last 5 months?
If yes, then fair enough that's the beauty of android.
If no, then i suggest you give the trial a go and play with the settings. Increased my headphone sound quality by soooo much. Beautiful interface and widget's. Tons of options that make it the best by far (for me).

I'm obviously missing something here - why'd you get another?
And agreed with Tariq on Poweramp - after the trial, I couldn't really live without it.
Had Vanilla Player for a while, but I missed the EQ and UI from Poweramp.

It's a fair question, to which I will provide the answer(s) for below.

I don't take out insurance on my phones, but rather take out another phone contract for same price as insurance amount, or a little bit more, which gives me something to sell after two years, or to keep. Got this S2 at MTN for R189 a month, which is a bargain for such an epic phone.

I have invested in the extended battery + battery charger, and car mount, so can easily swop from the one to the other.

One is being used as an 8ta "landline" and is the official backup, while the new one is my main phone.

For me, this phone is the perfect balance between size, looks and performance, and really becomes brilliant with the new Google Jelly Bean/Samsung Nature UX refresh. Just a great phone to own.

OK :) I can appreciate that take on it. Nice :D

Why don't you rather just wait until/if your phone breaks/disappears and then buy a new one... Seems more logical to me :) How much do you think your S2 will be worth in 2 years time?

The question is, will you still find a new one in 2 years time.
