The leading kernel developer is on the case for to create a proper rooted kernel for the official Sammy JB!

so, everything is (almost) ready. I just need an s2 for several hours.
then some time to make dual-boot related changed (I need at least a day)
I have also put cm10.1 support but I think I will have to remove it because it moves your sdcard contents to a subfolder named 0. multiuser support will create different folders for different users and that will probably break dualboot support.
so, I will have to find another place to store dual-boot related files.

This man is a frekkin genious!!!! Can't wait!!!

My phone made it! I can now state with confidence that the S2 is toilet proof!

Lucky you!!

Now why not complete the circle by getting yourself the official Samsung extended 2000mAh battery for Christmas? :)

Well ... those of us experimenting with the leaked JB rom already know what a great change JB is compared to ICS or GB. I learn something new everyday and I guess that's why people like kingrob and myself struggle to put the phone down since loading JB. It is truly amazing to see the new features although some really chows battery ...

So I am sitting on site, sharing a cubicle with a colleague and he has an iPhone (my deepest apologies for using the i***** word in a proper thread, but bear with me). Now he does not know anything about Android since he chose between a BlackBerry (same apology) and the i***** when he was in Canada (the sales person only pimped these phones and not Android for some reason - couldn't bother to ask). And then he saw me "playing" with my phone. I noticed and started showing him a few stuff that makes JB stand out from ICS (not that he would know coz' he doesn't know Android). I showed him the. floating video player, the new gallary interfaces, auto dialling by bringing the phone to your ear from a text message, multi window and some motions. I wish you guys could see the look on his face - it's like that nice surprise you get when feeling a real tit form a real girl the first time. His first response wwas "Why do you make me fall in love with this phone?" ... and I guess that settles that! S2 FTW!!
I'm a sales guy at times and i see that face everytime i do what you did with your friend, to customers. :D
Warms me up when i see it lol.

Running NeatROM Lite 4.1.2 ... I just also had to flash a home button fix (it was reacting as though being double tapped).

The phone is so flippin' smooth and fast now. It's hard to imagine it any more so. Is it, like, *too* fast? (Obviously not, but it feels funny at first)

I think this is better than CM10 for me. I am moving back to Samsung based ROM's.

I am going to miss this phone when my Note 2 comes next week.

I installed the 4.1.2 JB rom on my S2. Now i get these damned annoying prompts when i scroll through the pages. "page one of four, page two of four" etc. It is SO ANNOYING. Anyone know where i can rid my phone of this?

That is under the accessibility options (Settings - Accessibility - Enhance web acessibility - Not allowed). I had it on mine and it did become annoying because it affected my browsing.

I am tempted to do the same. Going to load NeatROM as my second ROM and see how it goes.

And you won't miss the S2 after getting the Note. Trust me :)

I doubt you can do that. As far as I know, the only modified kernel fir LSJ is PhilZ kernel and it doesn't support dual booting. GM is working on the issue. See one of my latest posts for his progress

SO I bricked my S2. Had two ROMs on the PC - one for the S2 and one for the S3, an inadvertently flashed the S2 with the S3 ROM.

To add insult to injury, I lost my USB jig so I'm pretty much out of options because the phone won't even switch into download mode. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not even sure how that was possible. The script that installs usually checks if you have the right phone for the ROM you are flashing and fails if it doesn't match. That's what happens when you use CWM though. Did you use Odin?

I know a guy who tried flashing a s2 rom on the s1, hardbrick! Never got it fixed.

Anyone knows where one could still buy these cheaply? /hopes for a Christmas bonus :(

Not long to go, and you'll have this....

You're not helping much.

In which area are you?

Somerset West, but I'll be out in the southern suburbs from Monday onwards.

Just an update on the bloddy annoying page 1 of 2 etc crap i hear when flipping through the screen. I disabled this and it didnt help. I then also disabled "all sounds" under the accessibility section. That worked, but it turns out that disables sound from the phone completely, except during calls.

Am i the only person with this annyoing issue, i cant find it on google either
