What are most of you running at the moment? Stock, custom sammy or aokp/aosp ? Maybe we can get a poll or something going?

What did you have in mind? Maybe only rom, kernel and modem?

Mine is:
ROM: NeatROM Lite 4.0 (based on leaked LSJ)
Kernel: Siyah 6.0beta4
Modem: XXLS6

Yeah that, hows it working out for you? :)

Think we should start a new thread to share this or do it here?

Immediate improvement in battery life, everything in recovery works, video and camera works with the exynos exploit plugged. There are problems with settings of governer and scheduler, but those can be fixed with SetCPU untill GM fixes the problems. The main reason it is not fixed, is because he doesn't have a S2 to do testing.

I don't think a new thread is warranted for this poll you want to run. It will just become another S2 thread... Just my opinion - feel free to start one if you think differently.

For those interested, I picked up that Game (here in Midrand, anyway) is selling 8GB UHS1 microSD cards for R129 - same price as the Class 4...

Hectic, I installed siyah 6 beta 4, set it on battery profile in the recovery kernel options, limited max cpu frequency to 1000 MHz and put under volt to 25mV. Made it through a long day with hsdpa enabled all the way, no wifi, and there is still 40% battery (2000mAh) left.

Note: still using the omega ROM (based on jellybean leak) and I've done a couple of app freezes in titanium.

I convinced a colleague of mine to swap with me.
My: White S2 (mint condition - bought Feb 2012)
For a: Pebble blue S3 (mint - <1 month old)
..and R500 cash difference.

I know it's a steal deal. I love my S2 though, think I should do it? :D

I wouldn't.

Just becoming more & more obvious that the S3 is one flimsy device.

The screen cracks when you just look at your S3 funny....and to repair it is another R2000.

The gorilla glass on the S2 is much tougher than the gorilla glass on the S3 + the S2 has the much better display.

And with Jelly Bean running on the S2 + adding the 2000 mAh extended battery, it's just a dream phone to own.

I'm with kingrob. I'm all for technology and all, but I personally discouraged my wife from going after a S3 and rather go for a S2. She has a month still to make a decision.

Or she can wait till April for the S4, with 13MP camera, 1080p 5'' unbreakable display, S-pen, etc. :)

Maybe I am getting old, but my S2 just fits perfectly in my hand and in my pocket, so don't want anything else.

+1. Not old though. I think we've come to the realisation that the S2 is good enough. I'm certainly happy enough with it.

I like the s3 but the fragileness of the screen is a deal breaker for me. S2 is near perfect balanced.

Me as well.

Was very tempted to get the S3, but just too many cracked screens for my liking.

And I don't even use a cover/case for my S2, because I have the extended battery. :)

Wonder if Corning got greedy and decided to skimp on the quality with gorilla glass 2?

Hi. I've upgraded my s2 to andriod 4.1.2 on saterday. I used the upgrade software on sammobile site. One problem, i cant seem to find the call settings menu. Now all my outgoing calls show private number.Must i download additional software somewhere or is it hidden somewhere else?

Open the phone app, press menu then call settings. Network settings are under additional settings.

It's aged quite well, the only thing that's a bit outdated is the screen resolution.

Fully agree.

What makes it still perform so well, is the great 8MP camera, the dual core 1.2Ghz CPU and 1GB RAM.

I'll see what the S4 is like (will be launched in April 2013) & then maybe upgrade.

Wouldn't buy an expensive contract now, as this year is all about 1080p displays and 13MP cameras.

Anything less will be quickly forgotten. Yes, even the Note 2.
