think I just over complicated things, and when my phone "got dead", I hit panic button and went into overdrive as my worse fears came true. Good lord thats not a nice space to be in.
I guess all things considered the stupid overwhelmed me, not the sadness

Be glad it's a S2. It is difficult to brick it. Glad you're okay now.

I did that when I lost my EFS partition. As above, it's difficult to kill your S2 outright - all it takes is time, and lots of help from Google. :)

So yesterday my phone was working fine still during lunch and didn't touch it again until 17:00 when I took it out of my pocket and saw it is stuck on the Samsung logo bootscreen.

Took out the battery and switched on again, stays stuck on that bootscreen. Such a frustration as the phone isn't even rooted anymore (had a factory reset about 4 months ago when it went in for repairs) and I didn't do anything funny.

Happened to be close to the Vodashop so dropped it off there for repairs - hopefully they can sort it out. Only due for an upgrade in January. Back to the old iPhone 3G for now.

May loose all my photos on my phone though as I didn't back that up. Lesson learned.
 
Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button = Android Stock Recovery on S2. (Keep pressing until you are in the Recovery Menu)

Wipe Cache, Factory reset and try to boot again. Remember to try this next time.

Yeah I was going to do that, but hoping they can somehow fix the phone without wiping all the photos. But come to think of it, they will probably do exactly that and only if it doesn't work will they check for hardware problems.

You shouldn't lose photos with a factory wipe if they're on the sdcard. I'm not even sure a factory wipe removes photos off internal memory either tbh.

As above. Grootbaas is correct - a factory reset doesn't remove your photos. Only a full wipe will do that.

I know this from firsthand experience. Both ways. :/

I'm using a SanDisk 32GB SD card, haven't had any problems in more than a year's time with it, still going strong. :)

You can buy it from any photographic shop, they normally stock the higher capacity SD cards.
 
So this is what a dead USB boards battery profile looks like...don't pay attention to the time as its completely off.

Hey guys, long time no thread visit!

Could someone suggest a fair price for a Galaxy S2 + 16GB class 10 card in great condition? I've ugpraded to a Note 2 N7105 so I don't need the device anymore.

btw, for S2 and most Galaxy devices, if it hasn't been mentioned here, give Slimbean a try, currently on 4.3 beta 5 and this rom is smooooth and it's got built in inverted Gapps (you can turn it off if you don't like it) but so far this is my favorite rom, ever.
