I'm just hoping they bring CM 11 to the i9100. The phone is getting a bit old now and I'm wondering if they will continue developing for it.

They have started releasing the monthly snapshots for some phones of CM10.2. I don't see it for the SII. This could be bad news :(

I need help. I'm a flash addict.

I have flashed NeatROM Lite v5.3.1 - stunning ROM, beautiful experience. However, there is one issue I need real help with. With Ingress in particular, I notice a loss in signal and data when out and about in places that CyanogenMod 10.x had no issues with. I am currently using baseband XXMS4 - is there a preferred one for SA that I can find? I know we've discussed this before, but am looking for current basebands if possible.

What baseband was on CM? Someone else here might be able to tell you if they also used CM.
Either extract the modem from the CM zip (I think Mobile Odin Pro can do that) or look for it somewhere on XDA and flash it separately from recovery.

I was actually keen (for the first time!) to get Cyanogenmod 10.1.3, but on XDA Devolopers, people are saying that it causes massive battery drain, and the main culprit is the radio.

Anyone else having good battery life with 10.1.3?

You can always try to flash your current modem on CM and see if it solves the battery drain.

Unofficial builds of Cm11 for the i9100 available and apparently very stable. I'm downloading now, have to try it out.

I managed to load this last night, and it's surprisingly stable. Only thing that doesn't work is video recording at the moment but I think they may have just fixed that in todays build.

Galaxy S2 ftw!

Mine takes a long time to get a fix. Couple of minutes.
Meh. I really need my gps working so I can see what ingress is all about so this kinda sucks. Gonna update my nightlies and see if that helps tho I've seen no mention of gps in the changelogs.

I'm thinking it might be worth doing a wipe and flashing the rom.

@saor: have a look in the play store for GPS Test, and a couple of apps called GPS Status. These will definitely show if your GPS is working. One of the status apps has an option to reset the GPS.

I'm back on CM 10.1.3 Stable. I need my phone to work, and while 10.2 is nice there is no real reason for me to be on it at this time. 4.1.2 Sammie ROMs are too slow - I got quickly tired of driving past a portal before it even showed on my screen. I stuck CM back on last night, and balance was once again restored to the universe.

GPS Test seems to see the satellites but doesn't want to connect:

GPS STATUS gives no connection:

I've installed FasterGPS and set the values to AFRICA : SOUTH AFRICA but still nothing. Also just updated to the latest nightlies without any improvement :(.

What network are you on? I know this might sound silly, but it seems when I am on Vodacom my GPS takes forever to get a lock, if I switch to Telkom Mobile for instance, GPS lock is almost instantaneous.

Try this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cochibo.gpsstatus
It has the option to reset the GPS. It worked for me when GPS Test couldn't link to the satellites (as in your first pic). You can also try with wifi and 3g off, just to check whether they are influencing the GPS module.

Faster GPS only helps with getting a quicker lock when using network location assistance (I forget the acronym for that).

Thx for the suggestions. I did a wipe with GS2ROMWipe, installed CM 10.1.3 and tried that latest test tool posted (GPS Test) and still no results. It's weird it sees the GPS but won't connect.

Also I'm on cellc which hasn't changed in the past few months, and my gps has definitely worked whilst on cellc.
