Dunno if I have a personal hardware problem with my phone, but I'm not sure how everyone is still so happy with their S2's. My phone just doesn't feel as snappy as I would like it to be.
I for one cannot wait to upgrade soon, don't get me wrong I love the s2, and it has served me very well over the last 2 years, but it doesn't even come remotely close to competing with whats on the market today, and that's just the nature of the phone industry I guess.

What rom are you running on the phone? Stock (if so what version) or custom?

They're very quick! I think they use Fedex?

What app are you going to use for the dash cam? I've tried this:

It freezes up everytime I try and start a recording though.

Fiddled with the video quality settings but didn't make any difference.

I've dabbled with DailyRoads Voyager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dailyroads.v), will try it out on the weekend to see how it actually performs when in use though.
 
Ok, got my S2 for R2150/ :-D Can anybody recommend a good case and where to get it. I walked Tygervalley flat yesterday. Not a single decent case in sight!

Nice :D

I have a hard rubber CaseMate cover (with that soft touch feel). It picks up fingerprints pretty easily though but was the best one out of the lot when I bought mine.

I would recommend that you make sure the case doesn't cover the buttons completely though, I tried one in store and it was almost impossible to press the buttons. If it does cover the buttons make sure that it is designed properly so that you can press the buttons easily.

No, you didnt!

If I remember correctly, the CellC shop opposite the 8ta shop still had fantastic Casemate cases for the S2.

I went in at cell c by the way. They've cleared the old stock and they only stock the S3 cases now.
 
Thank fully not! lol Although that might have given it some character. just a plain pink Capdase case.
 
Love to. It looks fantastic, but scared I might scratch it. Putting a screen protector over over a scratch doesnt help much. lol

Good luck scratching the screen- it is extremely tough. Mine has zero scratches after a year of moderate use. And sadly enough I have dropped it (once) onto tar, face down. Still spotless.
 
The only thing to worry about damaging on your S2 are the silver edges I got some scuffs cracks on mine. It has fell many times and never used a case. I got mine in Sept 2011 screen is still as perfect :)

True. This is why I have a PDAir soft rubber body shell around mine, with only the screen exposed via a recessed opening.

Ya, i noticed last week that stores are carrying hardly any stock for the S2. I couldn't even get a new screen protector.

Makro in milnerton, have cheapish looking covers for R30. Soft plastic cover which covers the side of the phone. I got one and it works nicely. Not the best looking case though.

Also, there's a cellphone shop next to Game by N1 City that sells some cases. I got a cool clear one for R60.

I honestly can't believe how much these companies sell cases for. Seen some S3 cases costing R350!
